Did Shane Dawson Die?

No, Shane Dawson is not dead. Though there are a series of talks about the death of the 32-year-old YouTube star, his death appears as a false story. Many fans have already tributed respect to the YouTube star without knowing the truth.

However, Dawson himself has not come forth to address the hoax. Several sources are pretty sure that the internet personality is well and sound, though.

How Did Shane Dawson Death Rumors Start?

The death rumors of the 32-year-old YouTube star, Shane Dawson started all across the media after a parody account mimicking TMZ tweeted "American Youtuber Shane Dawson dead at 32 #RipShane." Many of the Twitter users joined the controversy despite knowing if the news was legit or a false one.

With the same initiation, Dawson's death hoax became trending on Twitter on 27 July 2020. It also tailed numerous tweets that paid respects to the YouTuber. Similarly, sources mentioned that a Twitter account impersonating Dawson's fiance YouTuber Ryland Adams also tweeted something familiar with the controversy.

Likewise, one of the users shared a fake tweet from the fellow controversial YouTuber, Jeffree Star, which featured the words, 'RIP Shane.' Dawson and Star were the duos of YouTube stars, who were also famous for their YouTube drama. The tweet was sure as the fake one because when you click the thread, it will directly take you to the Justice for Breonna Taylor petition on change.org.

Even the people who are not fans of Dawson came forth with several talks regarding the hoax. One user mentioned:

"I’m an outspoken criticizer of Shane Dawson but this #ripshane tag is honestly horrible. Dislike Shane as much as you want but you should NEVER joke about or fake someone’s death. Having lost people close to me it makes my blood boil at some of the jokes being made."

Just a month before his death rumors, he shared an apologizing video on his YouTube channel entitled 'Taking Accountability.'

In the video, he apologized to everyone for his past videos, where he used blackface in past sketch comedy videos and burst the pedophilia jokes. He mentioned:

"I’m going to start with all the racism I put on to the internet as an adult, not a child. I was at least 20 when I started YouTube, and I made the decision to play stereotypes of Black people, or Asian people, or Mexicans, or pretty much every race. I made that decision. I said, ‘Oh this is funny,’ and I put that on the internet.”

He also apologized for the pedophilia and a fictional murder fantasy, which he burst of an unnamed woman on his podcast 'Shane and Friends.'
