Former host of ITV's Love Island, Caroline Flack has died, GlamourBiz has learned. She was at the age of 40.

Flack's family confirmed her death on 15 February 2020. Her cause of death was by suicide, where her dead body was found in her East London flat. ITV was also shocked to learn her death and consolidate over Twitter:

"Everybody at Love Island and ITV is shocked and saddened by this desperately sad news. Caroline was a much loved member of the Love Island team and our sincere thoughts and condolences are with her family and friends."

Flack was survived by her parents Christine and Itan, her siblings, Elizabeth and Paul, her twin sister Jody, and her bulldog Ruby.

It's unknown why Flack decided to take her own life, but her family mourned over her sudden death, releasing the statement:

"We can confirm that our Caroline passed away today, the 15th of February. We would ask that the press respect the privacy of the family at this difficult time and we would ask they make no attempt to contact us and/or photograph us."

Various Love Island contestants and celebrities have tributed Caroline. The highlight episode of the ITV's show has also been canceled out of her respect.

Caroline, an Enfield, London-born was a British TV and radio presenter who presented ITV's Love Island in June 2015 and had also been a contestant of Strictly Come Dancing during season 12. Her dance partner was Pasha Kovalev.

Earlier, Caroline was enacted into several controversies.

She got accused of assaulting her boyfriend Lewis Burton back in December 2019. Lewis accused her of hitting him on his head with a lamp but soon took his claim back, insisting he was not a victim and was only a witness.

During her court appearance in December, Caroline said:

"Thankfully I know a lot of you will not believe all that you have heard and read following today's court hearing... thank you for your continued support and love... 'It's going to be a relief when I am able to give my side of the story, when I'm allowed to."

Caroline was charged with assault and was scheduled for court in a trail on 4 May 2020. The very incident also led her to get a ban from contacting Lewis.

It's such saddening that just a day before Caroline's death, her boyfriend Lewis had confessed his love over his Valentine's message.

While her death is still a mystery, Caroline's management team has slammed Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) for pressing ahead her 'show trial' and described Flack as a 'vulnerable.'

The management team also cited CPS should 'look at themselves,' and the pursuit of the trial was 'without merit' which caused 'significant distress to Caroline'
