Ted Bundy is a name that America will probably remember for generations. But, the name doesn't bring any glory to its holder; instead, it is a symbol of horror and violence for the general population.

The man- a serial killer- abducted, raped, and murdered at least 30 women, but the number is supposedly way higher than admitted by the killer.

During his lifetime, Ted abused, assaulted, and ended many innocent lives. Additionally, he also manipulated the woman in his life, and she believes in his false innocence.

Carole Ann Boone- former wife of the now-deceased serial killer- spent years of her life believing that Ted was not a cold-blooded killer and even testified for him in court.

But, once she learned of his true nature, Carole immediately turned sides and distanced herself from Ted.

So, where is Carole now? Is she dead or alive? Let's find that out!

Carole Ann Boone Married Ted Bundy During Murder Trial

When Carole first met Ted Bundy, she was in a vulnerable stage in her life. She had been married twice before and divorced both of the times, and even had a son named James from one of her failed marriages.

Carole was in an unhealthy relationship with an admittedly unpleasant person when she first met Ted in 1974. At the time, both Carole and Ted worked for the Washington State Department of Emergency Services.

Though Carole was immediately attracted to Ted, a romantic relationship between the two developed only after Ted Bundy was arrested and put to trial for the murders of two women at Florida State University's Chi Omega sorority house named Lisa Levy and Margaret Bowman.

The trial was being held at Florida, and even Carole had moved to the state to support Ted during the proceedings. In 1979, Ted used a loophole in Florida, which states that two people can get married via declaration at the courthouse in the presence of a judge.

Using the provision, Ted asked her to marry him when Carole was brought to the witness stand as a character witness.

Had A Daughter With Ted Bundy

Despite getting legally married, Ted wasn't allowed conjugal visits and hence couldn't indulge in sexual activities with Carole. However, the prison guards were bribed to show leniency during visits- which made it possible for Ted to have intercourse with Carole at different locations inside the prison, including bathrooms, visitors room, and back of the water coolers.

Eventually, Carole became pregnant with Ted's child and gave birth to a baby daughter named Rose Bundy in 1982.

However, the upbringing and recent whereabouts of Rose is not available.

Carole Left Ted Once She Learned Of His Crimes

Carole had remained by Ted's side all those years as she believed he was innocent. But, once she became aware of a deal offered by the prosecution, which, if agreed upon, would delay Ted's death sentence in exchange for the location of his victims' bodies, Carole grew skeptical of her husband.

And, once she realized that Ted was actually a serial killer, she divorced him. The divorce was finalized in 1986, after which Carole moved to Washington with her two children: son James and daughter Rose.

Where Is Carole Ann Boone Now? Is She Dead Or Alive?

After Carole divorced Ted Bundy, she remained low-key and out of the media attention. By the time Ted was executed via the electric chair on 24 January 1989, she had completely disappeared from the public eye. Ted died at the age of 46 by electrocution.

One theory suggests that she legally changed her name and started living as Abigail Griffin in Oklahoma. Some also believe that she got married again and maintained a peaceful life with her husband and children.

Despite her secluded lifestyle, it's known that Carole spent the last few years of her life at a retirement home located in Washington.

She eventually died in the same retirement home at the age of 70 in January 2018. Although not verified, the cause of her death is reported as septic shock.
