People say curiosity invents several discoveries. Yeah, it is a positive side of curiosity, but also has a negative impact. The negative impacts or failures sometimes cost the life of the inventer.

Late Daredevil Mike Hughes is a prominent example of the above statement.

Mike, who was a part of the flat-Earth Rocket Squad, made a homemade rocket and attempted to launch it on 22 February 2020. However, things do not happen as expected. He tragically lost his life in the expedition at the age of 64.

The rocket crashed off highway 247 in Barstow, California, on 22 February 2020, after which Mike was pronounced dead on the spot. The Science Channel, which filmed the expedition as a part of their documentary series 'Homemade Astronauts, ' confirmed the death of 'Mad Mike' Hughes to Space.com.

What Is The Cause Of 'Mad Mike' Hughes' Death?

Daredevil Mike Hughes, who had built a belief that the Earth was flat, lost his life in his new science expedition. The video of him surfaced where he launched the steam-powered homemade rocket that plummeted into the ground in Barstow, California. Mike's cause of death was an accident but how did he die remains the question.

Mike himself was a pilot in his rocket, who was keen to know the following things:

• To check if Earth is flat

• To know the Earth is round

And when the rocket met an accident, his injury was sure but led to the severe consequences, i.e., his death.

Responding to his death, Science Channel released its statement:

"Our thoughts and prayers go out to Mike Hughes' family and friends during this difficult time. It was always his dream to do this launch, and the Science Channel was there to chronicle his journey."

Initially, the Sheriff Office did not identify Mike's death citing that the authorities only pronounced a man dead, who could be anyone. But later, The Science Channel confirmed the news.
