The Mexican artist was hospitalized in an emergency back in August as he suffered a fall in his room at the private ranch Los Tres Potrillos, located in western Mexico. Recently, it is revealed that the Mexican singer is in a critical condition again after he had slight improvement for a short time.
He was taken to the intensive care unit again on 1 December and the eldest son of the artist announced that they will announce the medical report on his father’s official Instagram account in order to clarify all the rumors about the death of the artist are false.
Vicente Fernandez Jr. gave a brief update on his father’s medical state saying, “It is serious, it is delicate. (…) We are all in prayers. Doctors gon ‘say what they have to say”
However, according to his official Instagram post, it was announced that the legendary singer died at 6:15 am on Sunday at a hospital in the Mexican city of Guadalajara.
The family wrote, “We regret to inform you of his death on Sunday, Dec.12 at 6:15 am. It was an honor and a great pride for him to share his great musical career with everyone and to give everything for his audience. Thank you for continuing to applaud, thank you for continuing to sing.”
The singer needed respiratory support due to inflammation in his respiratory tract according to an official statement from his team on November 30. He underwent cervical surgery due to his poor health. On his last appearances, he had said, “As long as my throat holds, I am yours until the day God picks me up.”
