'I Like To Move It' DJ, Erick Morillo is no more with us. He is found dead at his South Florida home, police reported.

Authorities cited that after the 49 years old DJ was found unresponsive in his bedroom, the police received a 911 call at 10:42 a.m. to an apartment in Miami Beach. Officer Ernesto Rodriguez mentioned:

"We received a 911 call this morning at 10.42 am to 5660 La Gorce Drive. Detectives are currently on scene and in the preliminary stages of the investigation.”

Along with the police, detectives got along on the scene and in the preliminary stages of the investigation. However, the cause of his death is not noted yet. His death might be the consequence of drug abuse, which he had been long acquainted with. He even served at rehab for ketamine abuse.

The death of the famous DJ, who gave us the 90s with the electro-dance track 'I Like to Move It,' came after weeks of his arrest. He was facing a sexual battery charge after being arrested in August 2020 for allegedly assaulting a woman. As per the court documents, DJ Erick Morillo was scheduled for a hearing on 4 September 2020.

As per the accusations of the alleged victim, she and Morillo were both at his place after they were DJing. She mentioned that she resisted his sexual advances but went to sleep at his place. However, she found herself naked when she woke up with Morillo standing next to her, who was also nude.

DJ Erick Morillo garnered his net worth from his professional career as an American DJ and producer. He had a net worth of $9 million before his death. He started DJing at weddings and other local events at the age of eleven after returning to the United States.

Similarly, he took a studio engineering course at the Center for Media Arts in New York and began DJing at area clubs. During the time, he met El General at the clubs of New York, with whom he collaborated and released a single named 'Muevelo.' It subsequently earned a Platinum status as it was rich with multi-tracks, including mixed reggae, house, and techno.

Later, his 1993 single 'I Like to Move It' mapped his career, and went on releasing his albums. He also had a record label, Subliminal Records, based in New Jersey.
