Tyler Carter

Metalcore fans are probably not okay with the sacking of Tyler Carter from one of the metalcore bands, Issues. But the band could not forgive Carter for his deeds after he allegedly was involved in sexual misconduct. The American metalcore band cut off their bond with Carter, who has been a lead vocalist since 2012 following the allegations of 'grooming and sexual misconduct.'

The group released a statement on Twitter on 1 September regarding their break-off with Carter, which reads:

"Recently we have become aware of allegations of Tyler Carter of grooming and sexual misconduct. We, Josh, Sky and AJ, will no longer be working with Tyler. We believe survivors.”

However, Tyler Carter is yet to respond to the latest circumstances he has been through.

Is Tyler Carter Gay?

Tyler Carter, age 28, is not gay, but he is a bisexual. He confronted his sexuality following the Rocketown venue controversy in 2013. Turning back to the day of coming out as a bisexual, Carter mentioned:

"I think that day for me was more than coming out to my fans,” he said. “I don’t know if I actually did it so that I could finally let everyone in, but it was kind of like… if I tell the whole world, then I will finally be forcing myself to tell my family.”

Similarly, he added:

"And more importantly—that day, I learned not to care about what the industry thinks or what people think. I kind of “stuck it to the man” in a way. I broke all chains of being held down to an industry-standard or following any type of criteria, and it traveled way beyond just sexuality or image. It went deep into music and creative integrity too. My fans were very supportive, and it’s only helped me be more open and real with the world since then. That has brought more respect.”

Carter also spoke against Nashville music venue and youth center Rocketown, who fired an employee wearing Hostage Calm's "I Support Same-Sex Marriage" T-shirt back in January 2013.
