The three-time Emmy Award winner, Louie Anderson, is reportedly undergoing treatments for blood cancer. The comedian Louie was diagnosed with diffuse large B-cell lymphoma.
The Baskets star, Louie's diagnosed cancer is the most common type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma and according to his representative, the comedian is currently getting treatment at a Las Vegas hospital.
Glenn Schwartz released a statement regarding the comedian's situation and said, "Iconic comedian Louie Anderson is currently in a Las Vegas hospital being treated for diffuse large B-cell lymphoma, a form of cancer. He is resting comfortably."
His blood cancer is considered an aggressive lymphoma, DLBCL but is also curable according to the Lymphoma Research Foundation. They also reported that more than 18,000 people in the US are diagnosed with a diffuse large B-cell lymphoma a year.
The comedian had also dealt with heart problems and underwent two procedures to correct an unspecified issue in 2003. He also shared about his weight loss journey during the COVID-19 pandemic during an appearance on Conan saying, "I started the pandemic at about 370 or 380 pounds depending on what I was leaning on. And now I'm 340. I'm trying to get 275 so I can get into some of my mom's actual clothes. (referring to his female character on Baskets)
He also talked about intermittent fasting and said, "I'm trying to get down to 40/20 so I'm not eating for 40 and eating for 20." He had also talked about losing weight back in 2018 for his health and how he used food for protection against his alcoholic father. He had shared, "My goal now in my life is to be healthier and happier and to try to pass on everything I got from that situation to other people."
