Speaking with the New York Times, DePaulo said that the incident dates back to 2003, seventeen years before. However, it emerged that CNN is still employing him for more than one and a half months after being fired from the New Yorker for allegedly had masturbation on a work Zoom call.
Jeffrey DePaulo was in an 'election simulation' video call with his New Yorker colleagues in mid-October. Thinking that the video call was off, he allegedly pulled out his pe**s and started masturbating in Zoom in front of other participants.
The New Yorker immediately fired him; however, CNN is still hiring him.
