Basil was the first name of Mick Jagger’s late father, who died in 2006, although he was known to others as Joe. Octavian is Latin for ‘born eighth.’ The musician became a father again at the age of 73 on 8 December 2016, with his partner, ballerina Melanie Hamrick, at age 29.

Mick Jagger has emerged as a father of eight children with the birth of his son Deveraux.
Recently, on 23 May 2021, the rocker’s 34-year-old girlfriend was photographed at a screening of Peter Rabbit 2 with the couple’s son. In the photos, their 4-year-old son Deveraux strongly resembles his rocker dad – as he hit Picturehouse Central’s red carpet.

The adorable little Deveraux donned a patterned shirt under a midnight blue jacket, teamed with grey jeans and colorful shoes. One photo was snapped as he clutched a stuffed rabbit toy beside his mother, Melanie.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the similarities between Deveraux and Mick. The kid was also showed up in Melanie’s Instagram post when she wished him his 3rd birthday in 2019, where his hair and famous pout gave a striking resemblance to his father.
Before his 3rd birthday, Melanie posted a sweet photo of her son on Instagram in mid-2019, with ever spitting image of his father. The photo was commented by many of the fans saying, “clone of dad,” “Spitting image,” and “Jagger genes,” but the most common reply of all was simply “Mini Mick.”

The rocker Mick was seen held his youngest boy, Deveraux, in a sweet family snap while posing with his three elder sons James, Lucas, and Gabriel, to celebrate his 75th birthday in July 2018. The picture was uploaded by Mick’s daughter Georgia on her Instagram, captioning, “Happy Birthday Dada! We love you.”
In August 2019, little Deveraux was seen as the spitting image of his father on another spot as he rode a scooter in New York City with his mother Melanie Hamrick, as photographed shared by several sources.
Mick took to his Instagram in the last week of March 2021 to introduce a new family member to the Jaggers family, albeit of the furry variety. Mick could be seen smiling in the candid snapshot, sat on a floral sofa with a guitar resting nearby, and holding an adorable black kitten, writing, “Say hi to Nero, he’s a little camera shy!”
Mick’s girlfriend, Melanie, became a first-time mom at the end of 2016, with a spokesperson for the couple saying HELLO! at the time: “Melanie Hamrick and Mick Jagger’s son was born today in New York, and they are both delighted. Mick was at the hospital for the arrival. Mother and baby are doing well, and we request that the media respect their privacy at this time.”
According to Page Six, the two first spoke to each other backstage at a gig in Tokyo where Jagger allegedly asked her to dinner. They later got in touch following the tragic death of Scott, when Hamrick reached out to Jagger as a friend to offer comfort. According to the sources close to the couple, Melanie “put a smile back on” Jagger’s face “after months of mourning for L’Wren.”
Ever since, the couple has had a good romantic relationship as they parented their first child together two years later in 2016. They also found time to collaborate on a ballet together in 2019 with the production of Porte Rogue; a ballet specifically choreographed to music by the Rolling Stones.
