Carre Sutton is an American model known for her works in Vogue, Elle, Harper's Bazaar, and Cosmopolitan. Also an actress, she has appeared in the 1990s movie Wild Orchid.

The model who gives off a strong impression and vibe during her professional career fits her real personality. After decades of living up to a closed truth, Carre publicized her traumatic past with the former boss of Elite management.

Carre Sutton Accuses And Sues Gerald Marie Over Sexual Assault

Earlier in September 2021, Carre Sutton spoke during a press conference in France, which coincided with fashion month, by giving out more information on her recent allegations made against Gerald Marie.

Before the press conference, Carre had previously filed a lawsuit in New York City accusing Marie – a former head of Elite Model Management's European division – of having "repeatedly raped her" at his apartment when the model was 17 years old.

During the press conference, Sutton revealed that Marie would urge her to take cocaine to lose weight and "become a more successful model." She further explained that it was hard for her to escape from Marie's "radar" and continuously depend on him for food, housing, and bookings, to keep working while enduring the "abuse."

The case doesn't remain on only that, but Marie also went on to allegedly "trafficked" the young Sutton among "other wealthy men around Europe," saying that she was trafficked from "San Francisco to New York and then to Marie while still a child." But Sutton had to "normalize or compartmentalize" the abuse for her to grow her career and work.

However, Sutton was not the only one to accuse Marie of sexual assault – though all of their allegations have long exceeded the statute of limitations.

The French police, for their part, nonetheless, had the 11 women accusers against Marie participate in an interview to investigate some more on this case.

As for Sutton, there finally came a time when she couldn't put up with the abuse and mustered up the courage in 1986 to demand the abuse stop. She was "kicked out to go to another apartment, and then work stopped."

Though not able to forward the lawsuit in Paris, Sutton has put her hopes in the New York City's court for suing Marie while also leading a group of women around Paris to raise awareness about similar cases in the fashion industry. Thanks to that, many high-profile celebrities and models have spoken out against the sexual abuse happening in the fashion industry.

But Marie refuses to accept those allegations as his attorney told The Daily Beast that his client "refutes with dismay these false and defamatory allegations" but would be "withholding his eventual statements until speaking to the competent authorities."

Sutton has filed her suit under the Child Victims Act in the legal court in New York City, accusing Marie of sexual assault. While speaking out against such a horrific and traumatic past, Sutton wishes that her response to the claims will be able to see a "change in this [fashion] industry" rather than only ending up with someone behind bars.
