Britain's Got Talent started its semi-final rounds from 5 September 2020. The contestants including Fayth Ifil (Golden Buzzer from Simon Cowell), Jon Courtney, Sing Along With Us (group), Nabil Abdulrashid, Honey and Sammy, Aaron and Jasmine, Aidan McCann, and many others made their way through the semi-finals.

After completing the first day of semi-finals on 5 September 2020, Britain's Got Talent has got the first finalist for 2020. And he is none other than Steve Royle, who is a comedian from Manchester. Steve Royle was selected as the first finalist of the 2020 Britain's Got Talent by the judges from the first semi-final episode that was pre-recorded.

All four judges, including Amanda Holden, David Walliams, Alesha Dixon, and Ashley Banjo put Royle through the finals while the host Ant and Dec confirmed the news. The duo mentioned that it was 'crazy and unbelievable' that Royle made his way to the finals. While Steve Royle used guitars before, he used black balls as props in the semi-finals.

Steve Royle performed a comedy routine incorporating juggling, with the help of two assistants who were none other than host Ant and Dec. His act touched all four judges, and David Walliams said:

"I nearly pushed my golden buzzer for you when I saw your audition because it's one of the funniest performances I've seen. I was totally wowed and if you are not in the final of BGT 2020 there will be no justice in the world."

Similarly, Alesha Dixon mentioned, 'You did not disappoint, you had me ugly laughing once again,' while Amanda added 'You deserve this shot.' Likewise, the new judge, Ashley Banjo, who replaced Simon Cowell after he had an accident falling off an electric bike, stated, 'It absolutely killed me. It was an incredible act, I really, really enjoyed it.'

With being the first finalist of Britain's Got Talent, Royle's chance of winning £250,000 is not far.
