The Quintessential Quintuplets (Go-Tōbun no Hanayome) is a Japanese manga series based on genres like harem, comedy, and romance. The series was written and portrayed by Negi Haruba.
The manga series began its serialization in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine since August 2017. Kodansha USA then published the series in English media under the sponsorship of Kodansha comics.
The manga series was made into an anime adaptation by Tezuka Productions, which made its debut from 10 January to 28 March 2020, comprising a total of 12 episodes. Satoshi Kuwabara directed the anime adaptation.
The opening theme song of this anime series was "Quintuplet Feelings" by Kana Hanazawa, Ayana Taketatsu, Miku Itō, Ayane Sakura, and Inori Minase.
In contrast, the ending theme song was "Sign" by Aya Uchida. The anime sequel was licensed by Funimation and Crunchyroll, respectively.
Announcement And Release Date Of The Quintessential Quintuplets Season 2
After the successful hit of the first season, the anime sequel gained many positive reviews and reactions from many fans for its excellent romantic comedy and harem elements. The anime procured many fanbases earning the fifth best selling manga sequel in 2019. A second season sequel was announced on 5 May 2019 during a function held at Yurakucho Yomiuri Hall in Tokyo.
During a live event held at Anime Expo in July 2019, Season 2 titled 'Gotobun no Hanayome ∬' was announced to be released in January 2021. This anime sequel is going to be animated by Bibury Animation Studio.
Season 2 of 'The Quintessential Quintuplets' is going to be directed by Satoshi Kuwabara, while Keiichirō Ōchi is returning as the scriptwriter. The anime's official website also revealed a trailer comprising with new key and teaser visuals, depicting the concepts for the second season.
The Plot Of The Quintessential Quintuplets
The story plot of The Quintessential Quintuplets follows the everyday life of a high school student known as Futaro Uesugi, who is intelligent but leads an intricate life due to poverty.
Futaro is a private instructor for a group of quintuplets. His task is to instruct them on their education prowess. But, they're all beautiful girls and classmates of Futaro.

The girls are a bunch of troublemakers who dislike studying and are on the edge of flunking out from the academy if their grades drop. Futaro's first task is to get the sister's trust, whom they don't acknowledge him. However, his family's sustenance is on the position, so he struggles on, resolute in his resolve to relieve the sisters of their detest for studying and successfully supervise them to graduation.
Season 2 of the Quintessential Quintuplets will accommodate the "Fuutarou's Flashback Arc," where he is hospitalized due to sickness. During the time at the hospital while recuperating, the sisters visit him and find that his condition is getting better. Itsuki is also interested in him, as to why he studies so arduously.
He describes her a story about a youthful girl from 5 years ago. As he attempts to get more familiar with the five girls, he ends up shooting a wedge between them alternatively.
When things were about to hit rock bottom, Futaro's past reaches up to him to a great extent.

Futaro Uesugi is the main protagonist of this anime series, who is smart but lives a complicated lifestyle due to poverty. He is a straightforward, anti-social high school student who is very exceptionally talented. He lives with his sister and father in a small residence. He is earnest, solemn, and dedicated to his attempts in assisting the Nakano sisters to improve their grades.
While he was studying in the sixth grade in Kyoto, he encountered a girl and carried her photo in his student handbook. She was his motivation and inspiration for studying. It was later exposed that she was one of the Nakano Quintuplets.
