Juwan Howard is the head coach of the Michigan Woverines and he has recently made headlines for puching the Wisconsin assistants after they beat Michigan on Sunday in a Big Ten Conference basketball game.
The ending of the game turned chaotic after coach Juwan Howard slapped the head of Wisconsin assitant coach Joe Krabbenhoft and after that both of the teams fought. The Winconsin head coach Greg Gard appeared to had grabbed Howard's arm to explain him about why he called the timeout but after the teams lined up to shake hands the incident happened. Gard has shared that Howard pointed at him and tapped in his chest so he thought it was time to protect himself.
Juwan Howard then expalained that he was upset Wisconsin called a timeout with a few secnonds left in the game when Wisconsin was already up 14 points. While the Univeristy of Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel released a statement that stricly stated how there was no excuse for any of their staffs or student-atheletes to get into a physical altercation with others regardless of instigating factors. He stated that the situation will be reviewed more thouroughly and work with Big Ten Conference to determine disciplinary actions when needed.
The Big Ten Conference also issued a statement and said that they would review the altercation and take swift and appropriate disciplinary action after the completion and conclusion of the investigation.
