Cody Rhodes' AEW Contract Expired At The End Of 2021

The TNT Champion and an AEW executive, Cody Rhodes, is currently working without AEW contract as a free agent. According to Fightful's Sean Ross Sapp, Cody Rhodes is a free agent, working without an AEW contract and he's also the current AEW TNT Champion.

Rhodes contract had expired at the end of 2021 and hasn't renewed the contract since then, according to the reports. Rhodes is not the only member in his family to be associated with AEW as his wife, Brandi Rhodes is also an AEW executive and on-air talent and his brother, Dustin Rhodes is also working in the company. Moreover, Cody Rhodes is entangled in AEW as he co-owns the Nightmare Factory wrestling training with partner QT Marshall that serves as the defacto training facility for AEW. 

Nevertheless, Cody Rhodes is scheduled to be at Dynamite on Wednesday as he was absent for several weeks with the restrictions of COVID and maybe Cody will sign a new deal with the company in the near future too.

Cody Rhodes Married Life With Wife Brandi Alexis Reed

Cody Rhodes is married to Brandi Alexis Reed who is also a professional wrestler and ring announcer and a businesswoman. They got married in September 2013. She currently holds the position of Chief Brand Officer in AEW. She graduated from the University of Michigan and was a figure staker for 17 years. She was also a news reporter in Michigan for two years and did some modelling for renowned magazines such as Maxim and Hawaiian Tropic. She got her Master's degree in broadcast journalism from the University of Miami. She has also dome sone acting gigs in the series WAGS Atlanta.

Cody met his wife, Brandi in WWE at first and they started dating when he asked her out for a month. Cody had shared about their starting times and said, "I looked at her ringside and I went from working the 10,000 people to just her....I thought she was the most amazing and beautiful woman."

His wife, Brandi, also said that they started dating randomly and said, "He started asking me to come hang out with him and I said no many times because it's a work environment and I was new at the time and was not looking to rock the boat." She added that she definitely wanted to go out with him and was very into him.

The couple welcomed their first child together, a beautiful daughter named Liberty in 2021. Cody announced the birth of his first child via Instagram and wrote, "6lbs 12oz - Liberty Iris Runnels - Mother & Daughter are doing wonderful." Brandi told, "I want my daughter to be as passionate about something as I am with wrestling. It took me a good 27 years to find that."

His wife, Brandi joined WWE in 2011 and initially performed in Florida Championship Wrestling and made her debut as an NXT announcer. She became the new ring announcer of Smackdown and Main Event in 2014. She also became the first black woman to do ring announcing at WrestleMania. She departed from WWE in 2016 and made her debut at Pro Wrestling Magic . She was also released from TNA in 2017 and signed to AEW in 2018 along with her husband.
