Whether call him ignorant or impolite, Ron Johnson is still against the mask mandates even he has tested positive for Coronavirus (COVID-19). Johnson, the United States Senator, released a statement after Wisconsin Republican leaders rose in favor of striking down the state's order, which suggested wearing face masks.

Ron Johnson, the Oshkosh Republican, announced that he tested positive for Coronavirus on Friday. He confirmed his health issues on the way to Ozaukee County Republican Party Oktoberfest Dinner in Mequon on 2 October 2020.

Similarly, he attended the event even after knowing his illness wearing a mask and staying at least 12 feet from anybody as [he was] speaking. Johnson immediately left for dinner after making his remarks in the function. When asked whether he was going through a self-isolation or not, he mentioned, 'no reason to do so.'

He further stated, 'I'm not sick. I have no symptoms. I certainly didn't anticipate testing positive, so there was no reason to quarantine.'

However, he made a contradictory statement saying that he believes that masks can mitigate the risks, but they are not 'certainly not a cure-all.' As per the Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, those who are tested positive for Coronavirus should self-isolate at home as well as follow the guidelines prescribed by the health care provider.

Concerning him testing positive, he mentioned that he would remain in isolation until the doctor clears his health demographics.

Who Is Ron Johnson?

Ron Johnson is an American businessman and politician who currently serves as the senior United States Senator for Wisconsin. Johnson first ran for office in the 2010 campaign. During the time, he was described as a 'political blank slate' as he had no history of campaigning.

He defeated Democratic incumbent Russ Finegold and got elected to the Senate in the 2010 campaign. Six years later, he defeated Finegold again and got reelected.

Before coming to the political career, he was a celebrated businessman. He served as an Executive Chief Officer of a polyester and plastic manufacturer. His business venture started with the support of his wife, Jane. They started working together at Jane's brother, Pat Curler's company PACUR.

After Curler left the company, Johnson became the CEO of the company. Later, he sold the company to Bowater Industries for $18 million in 1987.

A decade later, he bought the PACUR from Bowater until he started his political career in 2010.
