West Virginia Governor Jim Justice Hit Back By Bette Midler

Singer and actress Bette Midler has made headlines for hitting back at Jim Justice, West Virginia Governor in a Twitter post on Friday. She tweeted, "I'd say his dog's ass would make a better Governor than him!"

The singer tweeted photos of West Virginia's rankings in areas such as health care, the economy, and infrastructure that showed the state's overall rank in the country at 47th place. She wrote, "BTW, here are the state rankings of all the areas and agencies for which the so-called 'Governor' of WVA, #JimJustice, is responsible."

Her caption referenced remarks from Jim's speech of his annual state of the state address. Jim Justice said, "They never believed in West Virginia that we could do it. They told every bad joke in the world about us. And so from that standpoint, Babydog tells Bette Midler and all those out there, kiss her hiney." The governor subsequently showed off the dog's behind as he delivered the message. 

The West Virginia governor is not the only one the Grammy Award singer has hit back at, she has also tweeted about Senate Minority leader Mitch McConnell in 2020 and wrote, "He is useless, utterly useless. How did he win with an 18% approval rating? F--ing cheated, that's how! #Kentucky, you are keeping us all down. I demand a #KentuckyRecount"
