The 49 year old Sen. Ben Ray Lujan was diagnosed with stroke in the cerebellum last week but he is soon expected to make his return after full recovery. He had experienced dizziness and fatigues on Thursday and checked himself into Christus St. Vincent Regional Hospital and then he was transferred to the University of New Mexico Hospital as per the statement of Lujan's chief that said Lujan subsequently underwent decompressive surgery to ease his swelling.
His chief of staff posted to the democrat's Twitter account writing, "He is currently being cared for at UNM hospital, resting comfortably and expected to make a full recovery." Democratic New Mexico Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham also sent his best wishes to Ben's family.

Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin also responded to Lujan's absence and said that he was unaware of Lujan's diagnosis with stroke and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer told the reporters that they all are praying for Ben Ray and his family.
