Summer 2020 is just around the horizon. It brings you a whole new range of anime series and movies, making its debut or return on media franchise.
This summer season anime includes tons of fantastic assortment of genres and storylines based on new and old categories.
So, without further ado, let's take a sneak-peek of some of the top anticipated anime that is releasing in Summer 2020.
1) Haikyuu!!: To the Top (Second Season)
Based on the popular sports anime category, the second season of 'Haikyuu!!: To the Top' is a prequel of the fourth season of Haikyuu and is deemed as a split-cour anime having a part two sequel.
Created by Furudate Haruichi and adapted into anime series by Production I.G., the first season of Haikyuu!!, broadcasted from 6 April 2014 to 21 September 2014. The second season returned on 4 October 2016 to 27 March 2016. After that, the third season was broadcasted from 8 October 2016 to 10 December 2016. The fourth season currently known as Haikyuu!!: To the Top, is an ongoing season that premiered from 10 January 2020 to present.
The series incorporates a boy named Shoyo Hinata concurrently allied with an unlikely teammate named Tobio Kageyama. The duo vouches to combine their abilities, tactics, and raw talents to take the school volleyball team to the height vowing to win the national and international tournaments.
The new season of Haikyuu!!: To the Top second season will continue the story arc on Tokyo national championship from the manga series. Although it is a continuation of the fourth season, it will not be classified as the fifth season of Haikyuu.
The second season of Haikyuu!!: To the Top is scheduled to be released in July 2020.
2) DanMachi (Third Season)
DanMachi/ (Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?) is a Japanese light novel anime series based on comedy, romance and action-adventure genres. It was authored by Omori Fujino and portrayed by Yasuda Suzuhito, while J.C. Staff animated the series.
The first season of DanMachi released on 4 April 2015 to 27 June 2015. After that, the second season was premiered from 13 July 2019 to 28 September 2019. The spinoff of light novel 'DanMachi: Sword Oratoria' was made into an anime adaptation that aired between 14 April 2017 to 30 June 2017.
DanMachi spins around a boy named Bell Cranel accompanied by a goddess named Hestia, where he travels to become the top rank adventurer. While adventuring on a mission, Bell got save by an adventurer named Aiz Wallenstein. With never giving up attitude, he focuses on becoming the best adventurer possible in this romantic comedy series.
The third season of DanMachi includes Bell Cranel correlating in a war where he is trying his best to stop both factions. The new season includes the brand new characters alongside a new god who acts as the main rogue that's manipulating the scenes for his amusement. Many new adventurer characters are also included, including Alise Lovell and Gran.
The third season of DanMachi is set to be released in Summer 2020.
3) Enen no Shouboutai (Second Season)
Enen no Shoubutai/ (Fire Force), is a Japanese shonen manga based on comedy, drama, and action genres. Okubo Atsushi portrayed the manga series, and David Production animated the series.
The first season of Enen no Shoubutai premiered from 5 July 2019 to 27 December 2019. It includes a third-generation pyrokinetic user named Shinra Kusakabe, who gained the nickname 'Devil's Footprints.' He can ignite his feet at his will and made the promise that he would rescue his brother, who had been abducted and brainwashed by an evil cult.
The plot of the second season includes the journey of our main lead Shinra where he is tasked on a quest to look for his younger brother, who had been indoctrinated by an evil organization called 'White Clad' under the leadership of an evangelist. The second season focuses on the special fire force division called 'Company 8', where they tackle the white-clad gang while uncovering many mysteries about why humans turning into infernal monsters while finding the motive about the evangelist.
With the current series being in the hype, the second season of Enen no Shoubutai is set to be released in July 2020.
4) Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu (Second Season)
Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu/ (Re:Zero − Starting Life in Another World), is a Japanese light-novel manga series based on genres like romance, action, and adventure, consisting of dialectical anime story insights and enchanting mystery categories. The series was written by Nagatsuki Tappei and illustrated by Otsuka Shinichirou.
The first season was made into an anime adaptation by 'White Fox' which aired from 4 April 2016 to 19 September 2016. It focuses on a boy named Subaru Natsuki, who abruptly finds himself transported to another world on his way from a leisure store. He stumbles into a silver-haired elf girl named Emilia and decides to help on her journey. During their adventure, the duo gets murdered, and Subaru wakes up possessing the name of 'Return by Death.'
The second is deemed as two cour series that unveils the biggest mystery of Subaru's identity, like how he can control and return from his death. It also focuses on a new organization called 'Witch Cult' and the leader behind leading this unknown cult alongside various bishops, and more importantly, the fate of the demon maid Rem.
The second season of Re:Zero Kara Hajimeru Isekai Seikatsu is scheduled to be released in Summer 2020.

5) Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei (Second Season)
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei/ (The Irregular at Magic High School), is a Japanese web light novel series authored by Tsutomu Satou and Ishida Kana. The first season consisting of 26 episodes premiered from 5 April 2014 to 27 September 2014. It was also rebroadcasted in January 2020.
The story revolves around the two siblings named Tatsuya and Miyuki Shiba, who enroll in First High Magic High School while hiding their secrets. However, Tatsuya is shunned for his apparent ineptness while Miyuki is referred to as a prodigy for her magical abilities.
The second plot of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei includes the 'Visitor Arc' where Miyuki's classmate Kitayama Shizuku is on her way to study overseas. For magicians, this usually is unattainable, since allowing the genes of someone who can use alchemy outside their home country's perimeters is equivalent to giving up national secrets. But it's permitted to happen in one case transfer program. Around the same time, Lina appeared in Japan from overseas, while magicians began getting assaulted by a mysterious individual who leaves his/her victims depleted of blood.
The second season of Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei is set to be aired in July 2020.
6) Maou Gakuin No Futekigousha
Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha/ (The Misfit of Demon King Academy), is an upcoming new anime that is based on fantasy, magic, school, comedy, and romance category. It is based on a light novel manga series published by Ascii Media Works.
The story of this anime series revolves around the demon king of cruelty named Anoth, who has defeated countless humans, spirits, and gods comparatively. With exhausted from all the fighting, the demon lord hopes of a more tranquil life. He reincarnates and finds himself in the future in 2000 years later, where the world has become serene and peaceful.
Anoth soon notices that his descendants have become weak, and magic is in a severe dilemma of being scarce. He joins the Demon King Academy and finds his alchemy is off the chart when they measure his powers. Since his power is too much for the academy to handle, they cant project him and regard as a misfit and maverick. Despite this, with the support of a girl named Misha, the demon lord begins to climb the demon ranks to become the true ruler once again.
Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha is going to be released in July 2020.
7) Kanojo, Okarishimasu
Kanojo, Okarishimasu/ (Rent-A-Girlfriend), is a Japanese shonen manga series portrayed by Miyajima Reiji. The series has been arranged into 13 volumes in Kodansha's Weekly Shonen Magazine manual.
The story plot revolves around a college student named Kazuya Kinoshita, who has crumbled after a painful breakup with his girlfriend of a month Nanami Mami. He decides to hire a fake girlfriend named Chizuru Mizuhara by using an online dating app that seems to be too extravagant. There are several twists and turns as things get complex between Nanami and Chizuru when they realize that they are next door apartment acquaintances and tend to the same college.
Kanojo, Okarishimasu, is being made into an anime adaptation by TMS Entertainment, which is set to make its debut in July 2020.
8) Assault Lily Bouquet
Assault Lily Bouquet, a Japanese light novel mixed-media project based on magic, military and sci-fi genre, is composed by Hiroyuki Kasama and portrayed by Meiko Hosoi and Yaegashi Nan.
This is a fantasy novel story series about fighting girls who strive to become the best Lilies to combat these creatures and save the earth from its impending doom. Two novels have been distributed so far, the first titled 'Assault Lily: Ichiryūtai, Shutsugeki Shimasu!' published in June 2015 and 'Assault lily Arms,' published in July 2017.
The story takes place on earth shortly in the future, where humanity faces impending destruction from mysterious giant extraterrestrials known as 'Huge.' The entire world allies to fight against the Huge, and triumphantly develops weaponry known as 'CHARM' (Counter Huge Arms) by merging science and magic. CHARM displays high rates of synchronization with juvenile girls, and the girls who use CHARM are observed as heroes called 'Lilies.'
Assault Lily Bouquet, which is produced by Shaft and anime adaptation directed by Saeki Shouji, is set to premiere in July 2020.
9) Dokyuu Hentai HxEros
Dokyuu Hentai HxEros is a Japanese manga series based on ecchi, comedy, shounen, supernatural, and school compiling genres authored by Kitada Ryoma. Since its serialization, the manga has been popular selling more than 900,000 copies. The series began its serialization in Shueisha's Jump Square Magazine journal in April 2017, with it being arranged into seven Tankobon Volumes.
The story plot of this anime series takes place in a world that is on the brink of a great catastrophe that began five years before. The protagonists wield the powers of an unknown strange device named HxEros combining the power of Ecchi(H) and Erotic Power (ERO) to save the planet from these libido swallowing monsters!
It revolves around two characters named Retto Enjou and Kirara Hoshino, who have been childhood friends but are strayed apart from each other. One day, they're trapped in a battle against a 'Censor Bug' that supplies on human's sexual energy to develop. After triumphantly taking down the enemy, they join an organization of heroes, using the erotic power of the HxEROS force.
Dokyuu Hentai HxEros is being made into an anime adaptation by Project No.9 and is set to make its debut in July 2020.

10) Monster Musume No Oisha-san
Monster Musume No Oisha-san/ (Monster Girl Doctor), is a Japanese light novel series compiled of genres such as comedy, ecchi fantasy, and romanced. The first pamphlet was issued by Shueisha on 24 June 2016, later composing the series into seven volumes. The anime adaptation is directed by Iwasaki Yoshiaki and written by Shirane Hideki.
The story takes place in the municipality of Lindworm town where monsters and humans coincide. A doctor known as Glenn runs a typical therapeutic clinic for monster girls with his lamia assistant, Sapphee. Whether obtaining a marriage proposition by a centaur wounded in battle, palpating the injury of a mermaid, or suturing the sensitive wounds of a flesh golem, Dr. Glenn finishes his job with elegance and confidence.
Monster Musume No Oisha-san is being made into an anime adaptation by Arvo Animation, which is set to make its debut in July 2020.
