Based on the cuisine genre, 'Shokugeki no Soma' or 'Food Wars' is one of the most popular current shônen genre series of all times. With it's inventive and mouthwatering sensational food concepts, shônen metaphors, elements of drama and humor, and fan service moments, 'Food Wars' is referred to as the best cooking and slice of life genre anime released to date.

With the fourth season coming to an end on 28 December 2019, fans have been eagerly waiting for the new season of the shônen anime titled 'Shokugeki no soma: Go no Sara.'

It is the new season consisting of two arcs "Beach Exams" and "Blue Arcs" from the manga.

'Food Wars' ended its fourth plate in 2019 with the 'Promotion Exams' arc. But it isn't the end of the anime yet, JC Staff studio had other plans in motion.

During the Jump Fiesta held in Makuhari Messe in Chiba on 22 December 2019, JC Staff confirmed that the anime is having season five named 'Shokugeki no Soma: Go no Sara,' which is currently a work-in-progress.

'Food Wars' manga ended its course last year, and the fourth season wrapped its airing in 2019. Season 5 of 'Food Wars' released on schedule on 11 April 2020.

The new season features two arcs, "Beach Exams" and "Blue Arcs." But, due to ongoing pandemic COVID-19, episode 3 and the later episodes have been pushed further.

What Will Be The Plot Of 'Shokugeki no Soma: Go no Sara'?

Since the fourth season ended its plate with the 'Promotion Exams' arc, the fifth season is led astray as a single course.

Going by the manga, the fifth plate would likely be focusing on hot springs, beaches, and tournaments. The story unfolds four months after the 'Promotion Exams' arc, where Nakiri Erina sends Megumi Tadokoro and Soma to inspect an anonymous incident at a hot spring resort town. They unmasked the new organization called Les Cusiniers Noirs (Midnight Chefs), who are behind the mystery of the hot springs. The organization consists of a weird group of chefs who works for the crime.

As the series progress, our protagonist, Soma, is confronted by a teacher at the Totsuki Culinary Academy named Suzuki, who determines on making Erina his wife. He sends Erina several flower bouquets every day and proclaims that only he can satisfy the god tongue, which Erina possesses.

Erina aggress to marry Suzuki if he wins against her at the BLUE completion. However, Midnight Chefs had other plans in their mind as they abduct Erina and takes her at their hideaway. It appears that they are also going to partake in the tournament.

The big tournament called BLUE (Bishoku Leading under 35 entrance) eventually takes place where it is an outlook of inflowing into a new world that is based on youth for cooking.

The stakes also get personal and high since the ending of the entire story focuses on Soma vs. Erina Nakiri and how their relationship progresses throughout the story.

'Shokugeki no Soma' Summary of First Plate

The first plate of Shokugeki no Soma starts with the major characters such as Yukihira Soma, the son of Joichiro - who owns a small eatery. Soma is forced to join the renowned Totsuki Academy, where a few percentages of people pass every year.

Despite having a poor cooking background, Soma proves his worth by staying optimistic even while facing overwhelming obstacles and never giving up in the time of crisis. This behavior leads him to overcome many hard challenges and becomes the center of attention. He also became accompanied by many friends and foes that help him throughout the series. Soma's methods can be incredibly bizarre, but he always expresses his feelings with his mouthwatering dishes.

The first season aired from 4 April 2014 to 26 September 2015.

'Shokugeki no Soma' Summary Of Second Plate

The second plate focuses on 'Autumn Elections' and 'Stagiaire.' The concept of Autumn Elections is based on a selected few chefs who have the privilege can only take part in the tournaments to face each other and prove their worth.

Followed by Stagiaire, which is an internship at various restaurants, the story flows on getting promoted to next year and proves each chef worth overcoming multiple obstacles to become the top.

The second season aired from 2 July 2016 to 24 September 2016.

'Shokugeki no Soma' Summary Of Third Plate

The third plate takes a drastic turn of changes when the central takes hold of the Totsuki Gakuen as Nakiri Azami as the new director of the academy. The primary agenda of Azami is to threaten the future of Totsuki Academy, where perfection is the key to the food, everything else is not approved.

At this stage, Soma rallies a team to challenge the Elite Ten and Azami into a food battle to reclaim the institute and his teammates who were expelled from the academy. He and Erina form a team to free them from their grasp and show them what's more important is not perfection but the bond and faith that they share with each other.

The third season aired from 4 October 2017 to 25 June 2018.

'Shokugeki no Soma' Summary Of Fourth Plate

The fourth plate ended with various interesting twists and facts. The promotion exams concluded, where the rebels won against central defeating the top two seats in central Tsukasa Aishi and Kobayashi Rindo. After the victory, a new set of Elite Ten was crowned at the Totsuki academy, where Nakiri Erina became the headmaster and director.

The new Elite Ten lists follow the major characters. Yukihira Soma wins the first seat, Satoshi Isshiki as the second seat, Terunori Kuga as the third seat, Akira Hayama as the fourth seat, Ryo Kurokiba as the fifth seat, Alice Nakiri as the sixth seat, Takumi Aldini as the seventh seat, Etsuya Eizen as the eighth seat, Kurokuni Nene as a ninth seat, and Megumi Tadokoro as the tenth seat.
