Made in Abyss is a Japanese manga series that began its serialization in Takeshobo's digital publication website called Comic Gamma since 2012. Eight Tankobon volumes have been issued so far, as of 2020. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed the manga series.
The manga series was made into an anime adaptation by Kinema Citrus, and the first season made its debut from 7 July to 29 September 2017, comprising a total of 13 episodes. The anime adaptation was directed by Masayuki Kojima, while Hideyuki Kurata composed the series.
Announcement And Release Date Of Season 2 Of 'Made In Abyss'
After the flourishing hit of season one of Made In Abyss, it is announced that the sequel is going to be renewed for a second season. The anime has gained a lot of fan base due to its fascinating and addicting straight forward plotlines consisting of inexplicable storylines wrapped with humor, spirited, and whimsical concepts.
The release date for Season 2 of Made In Abyss is expected to be in the fall of 2020 or 2021. The production of the sequel has already been announced, but the format has not been in development yet.
After the end of the first season, the film sequel titled 'Made in Abyss: Dawn of the Deep Soul' was released on 17 January 2020.
The Plot Of 'Made In Abyss'
The story revolves around an orphaned young girl named Riko who resides in Ortho town. Her purpose in life is to locate her lost mother and gets entangled with many unfortunate incidents while trying to learn the truths.
At the same time, Riko finds and associates with a humanoid robot called Reg and descends with it into the so-called "Abyss" that leads deep into the Earth, in hopes of retrieving her mother.
Characters Involving In 'Made in Abyss'
•Riko
Riko is a vigorous and trouble-prone 12-year-old girl who wants to follow in the footsteps as her mother. Her mother was a fabulous cave raider named 'Lyza the Annihilator' who went missing in the depths of Abyss ten years ago. She was born during a mission in the Abyss.
Her mother and Ozen consequently brought back Riko from the bottoms of the Abyss using an artifact called the 'Curse Repelling Vessel.' However, as a consequence of the curse, Riko now wears glasses as she manifests headaches if she does not observe the world through a crystal lens.
•Reg
Reg is an amnesic automaton with the features of a human boy. Despite being a robot, he can consume organic foods. Riko named Reg after their encounter since he doesn't possess any of his memories.
Reg owns many unique gears and items. His mechanical arms are extensible, which can also fire a destructive energy beam capable of dissolving stones named Incinerator.
•Nanachi And Mitty
Nanachi is a hollow being with somewhat rabbit-like characteristics. As a human child, she continued to live her life in the slums, hunting for foods and written media. She befriended a young girl named Mitty and were sent down together to the sixth layer to participate in an experiment of Bondrewd's.
On their return, Nanachi's humanity was partly lost, while Mitty lost all of her virtue and humanity, becoming an abnormal, immortal combination of flesh with distorted limbs. She escaped with Mitty from Bondrewd's workroom to save her from the pain of his inhuman experiments.
