After Greta met the filmmaker Noah Baumbach on Sony's remake of Greenberg in 2010, she convinced the producer to make her a crack at the script. Eventually, the Sony Chief, Tom Rothman, gave her the directing responsibility of 'Little Women' and the movie got directed with a budget of $40 million.
