Christiane Amanpour is a British-Iranian journalist and television host. Amanpour is the Chief International Anchor for CNN and host of CNN International’s nightly interview program Amanpour. She is also the host of Amanpour & Company on PBS.
She was born on 12 January 1958 in London, UK, to parents Mohammad Taghi and Patricia Anne Amanpour. She is the eldest among the four sisters in her family. After staying in Tehran, Iran, for 11 years, Christiane’s family shifted to live in England.
She was awarded the C.B.E. (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2007 Queen’s Birthday Honors List for her services to journalism.

Christiane Amanpour 20 Years Married Life With Former Husband Jamie Rubin
Christiane Amanpour was previously married to Jamie Rubin for about 20 years.
The couple had known each other since the year 1993, but the actual meet-up happened in 1997 on the work-based trip to the Balkans. They had a stint in their relationship while working in war-torn Sarajevo and eventually tied the knot in 1998. The Rev. Ambrose O’Farrell, a Roman Catholic priest, performed the ceremony at the Church of Santo Stefano in Bracciano, Italy. Later in the day, Rabbi Guy D. Hall performed a Jewish ceremony at Castello Orsini-Odescalchi, during their big wedding day.

The couple, however, split in 2018 after two decades of being together. The divorce was amicable, and the two have remained friends. The pair welcomed a son named Darius John Rubin together in 2000.
Christiane Amanpour Has Been Diagnosed With Ovarian Cancer
On her recent appearance on screen, Christiane Amanpour told her viewers that she recently had surgery for ovarian cancer and will undergo chemotherapy for a period of weeks.
After a consecutive four-week absence from her hosting program for CNN’s international outlets, she returned on 14 June 2021 and opened her program with remarks about her condition.
She called the past four weeks “a bit of a rollercoaster for me.”
“I’ve had successful major surgery to remove it and I’m now undergoing several months of chemotherapy for the very best possible long-term prognosis, and I’m confident,” Amanpour said on her London-based show. “Always listen to your bodies,” she told viewers, urging them to make sure “that your legitimate medical corners are not dismissed or diminished.”
During her remarks, Amanpour said she wanted to emphasize “early diagnosis,” and told female viewers to “get all the regular screenings and scans that you can.”
