Defeating ninety other contestants from the several worlds, Miss South Africa, Zozibini Tunzi has been crowned Miss Universe 2019 in Atlanta on the 8th of December 2019.

Out of the ninety contestants, Zozibini and Miss Universe Puerto Rico Madison Anderson were the final contestants for the title, who relished the victory as a winner and a runner-up of the 2019 Miss Universe title.

Throughout the competition, all the contestants competed in an evening gown, swimsuit, and on-stage question rounds. Zozibini, who has devoted her social media campaign to change the narrative around gender stereotypes, mentioned that the most important thing to be taught to the young girls today is leadership. She stated;

"I think the most important thing we should be teaching young girls today is leadership."

“It's something that has been lacking in young girls for a very long time, not because we don't want to [take leadership], but because of how society has labelled women to be.”
