The 'Westworld' star Thandie Newton recently opened about the sexual abuse she battled when she was 16-year-old. She mentioned that she was sexually abused on the set of the movie 'Flirting.'

Talking about the incident, she mentioned that she became the victim of the abuse when her father flew home. She was sixteen years old at the time and virgin as well. With the concern about her past memories, she revealed that she had been psychologically groomed for many weeks after the incident.

Thandie said she did not fight him, and she was paralyzed with fear. And she called it 'sexual abuse.'

Moreover, Thandie added another incident from the set of the movie. She was called for a second audition, and during the set, the director asked her to sit with her legs apart. She mentioned that the camera was placed from where it could capture her upskirt.

The incident went much too far after the director asked her to put her legs over the arm of the chair and think about her character's dialogue. At the time, she thought it was all normal; however, she has come forth with a story of sexual abuse recently.

Thandie Newton Is Pleased With Harvey Weinstein's Sentence Of 23 Years In Prison

After Harvey Weinstein was sentenced 23 years of prison for third-degree rape and a first-degree criminal sexual act, Thandie seems to have pleased with it.

She also believes there are many faces behind bars, who are to blame for what goes on in Hollywood. Talking about Harvey's arrest, she said:

"He is just one person. This business preys on young people. I saw it everywhere. What I'm crying about now, it's not about the sexual abuse I endured, it's about the people who didn't have the courage to protect me, who didn't listen to me. They are the people who need to be held to account. All those people around Weinstein ... it's the rape culture, the climate of silencing, that is what once destroyed me and what now fires me up."

Thandie, age 47, is just an example of one of the victims of sexual abuse. But several other victims are deprived of justice, and many sexual predators are easily walking freely.

The legal penalties for the predators and the justice for the victims are what Thandie Newton believes to be accessible.
