Recently on 9 May 2021, Kevin announced his first child with Astrid Loch on his Instagram post with a photo of himself and Loch showing off ultrasound pictures along with their dog, captioning: “Happy 1st Mother’s Day to my queen,” and expressed his happiness on occasion to be able to expand their family.
It was not a straight, clean road for them to be expecting any baby. Loch had to undergo IUI and later IVF for getting pregnant finally to have a baby in her womb.
The couple was planning since the beginning of 2021, which Kevin opened up about the prospect of kids during a session of “True or False” on his Instagram Story. He expressed his desires for baby planning with his fiancée Astrid to his fans and followers. “I’d like to have four kids,” Kevin said in a video response to a fan who assumed that he and Astrid want “lots” of children, which Astrid denied.
Kevin then clarified, “Astrid wants three. I want four. And then maybe one adoption and then three other dogs, so maybe like eight?” While the number of babies they want may be huge, but it was certain that Astrid welcomes a baby soon.
“Do you want babies soon?” Kevin asked, reading another question which he replied, “Yes, please!” without hesitation, adding up with a huge smile, saying, “She said please, so…” expressing the pair’s desire to become a parent.

Kevin shared on his Instagram in August 2020 that he had bought the first family house together with a photo of Kevin, Astrid, and their dog, Ace, standing by the sold sign. Kevin wrote of buying the house on the occasion of their first engagement anniversary and as a countermeasure of moving forward with a family relationship as their marriage date got postponed due to COVID-19.
The couple got engaged in August 2019 and was originally planning to wed in 2020 but later had it rescheduled for November 2021 with an announcement of the postponement on their Instagram account.
Wendt expressed his sentiment in his post, writing: “My fiancée and I going to just keep moving,” along with a photo of the couple bike riding at the beach. Then he lengthens the caption as he says of being their marriage postponed, so he waits to see his wife-to-be in a beautiful dress walking down the aisle and tie the knot.

Kevin popped the question to Loch on 28 August 2020 in Toronto, Canada, where they live, as reported by PEOPLE. The two were in a sunset picnic in a quiet section of Toronto Island. Wendt then restarted his playlist about five times to ensure “Tequila” by Dan + Shay – a nod to their meeting in Mexico, where “we drank a lot of tequila,” Loch joked, as the couple was talking to the PEOPLE.
Wendt recalled, the moment before the event, he had the bulk ring box in his bag alongside some picnic stuff. He then told Loch to move her bike, and while she turned her back to move it, he swiftly relocated the ring box from the bag to his pants’ back pocket. Then the faithful moment arrived, as Wendt got down on his one knee and proposed to Loch, who with an expression of joy and surprise accepted.
Wendt also opened up about the ring being customized by him, a cushion-cut diamond ring from Wendt’s Jewellery, established in 1884 by his ancestor Charles Wendt.
Kevin first met Astrid in Bachelor in Paradise Season 5 and fell in love with her. They have come a long way since finding their love facing many hardships, creating a moment of happiness by engaging and recently adding a new member to the family, and now finally in the wait of tying the knot in 2021.

Kevin first appeared on Season 1 of The Bachelorette Canada in 2016 and ultimately won Jasmine Lorimer’s final rose. The pair were engaged for just five months since the show's finale and amicably separated in April 2017.
The two don’t hold any hard feelings for each other just compliments even after the split. Though it may not be clear, it seems that the reason for their split was the geographical difference. Jasmine lives in British Columbia and Kevin in Toronto. The couple shared a post announcing their breakup on their respective Instagram page with only respect and compliments for each other.
