Jerry Lamon Falwell Jr., an American attorney and academic administrator's role in Liberty University, is controversial. In recent times, rumors swirled amongst the media citing that Falwell resigned from his post. The news was published on several publications, including Washington Post, the Associated Press, and other US media outlets.
However, Jerry Falwell Jr. has called the resignation stories untrue.
Falwell talked with Politico on 24 August 2020 and mentioned, 'I have not resigned. How did those reports get out? I don't know.' Similarly, a senior official at Liberty University stated, 'Board leadership have been in discussion with Jerry Falwell and expect to be able to make a statement on Tuesday.' Besides, they will not make any comments regarding the rumors he has quit.
Regarding Jerry Lamon Falwell Jr., age 58, there have been several sexual allegations. A business partner from Falwell Jr. named Giancarlo Granda came forth his revelations in the media with the story of having a sexual relationship with Jerry Falwell and his wife, Becki Falwell as well.
Giancarlo stated, 'Becki and I developed an intimate relationship, and Jerry enjoyed watching from the corner of the room.'

Earlier in August 2020, he took absence leave after posting a photo of himself with trousers unzipped on Instagram, which aroused several scandals. The image he shared on Instagram enraged the charges of hypocrisy from the political right and left and also calls for him to resign.
As per Liberty University's honor code, 'Sexual relations outside of a biblically ordained marriage between a natural-born man and a natural-born woman are not permissible at Liberty University.'
