'Winners At A War,' the 40th season of the American competitive reality show Survivor, premiered on 12 February 2020 on CBS, where previous winners of the Survivors competed against each other. Among them was the winner of the thirteenth season of the reality TV show Survivor: Cook Islands (2006), Yul Kwon, who is best known for his smarts and analytical gameplay.

Yul, along with other Survivor winners including Wendell Holland, Tyson Apostol, Tony Vlachos, Sandra-Diaz Twine, Parbati Shallow, Michael Fitgerald, and many others, returned to the reality show for the prize of $2 million.

The premiere of the 40th season of Survivor came after nearly a year of its filming. The episode was filmed back in May 2019 in Mamanuca Islands in Fiji. The reality show airs every Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.

Yul and Sophie dated for a few time and got engaged in 2008. He proposed Sophie on stage at a concert in Palo Alto, which he later joked by stating;

“It seems my strategy of proposing in a public forum, maximizing social pressure, and shocking her into silence … seems to have worked. Now I just need to plan the wedding before she comes to her senses.”

Sophie, who was a product manager at a bank at the time, said 'Yes' to Yul's marriage proposal and directed their love life towards starting a new life onwards. After a year, they shared their wedding vows in 2009, which was on the TV Guide Channel as well.

Yul and Sophie are parents to two kids. They welcomed their first child, Genevie, in October 2010 and welcomed second kid, Kaylin, in February 2013.

As of 2020, Yul and Sophie maintain a sound and happy family life with immense support and understandings. Yul often mentions that Sophie encouraged him to make a "Survivor" comeback.
