Shannon Tweed is a married woman. She tied the knot with her longtime dating partner, Gene Simmons, in 2011, after being together since 1983.
Gene is a singer, songwriter, record producer, television personality, actor, author, and entrepreneur, best known for being the lead singer and one of the founding members of the hard rock band Kiss.
On 1 October 2011, Tweed walked down the aisle for the first time in her life with Simmons as her wedding partner as she donned the Priscilla of Boston gown. The wedding ceremony, which was held in Beverly Hills Hotel at the time, saw the couple exchanging vows in front of 400 guests. Tweed later changed into a Badgley Mischka dress for the reception.
At the couple’s wedding, Tweed mentioned melting the gold of her late father's wedding ring to make Simmons’ wedding ring.

Shannon Tweed And Gene Simmons Have Been Together For Almost Four Decades
Tweed and Simmons started dating since the year of 1983. However, their relationship didn’t move any further than dating for 28 years until Simmons braced himself to settle for the one woman who “holds me accountable” the most.
Prior to their marriage, Simmons had already popped the question to Tweed for being the Tweed-Simmons team. The engagement proposal was presented during the airing of the Tweed-Simmons’ family reality show, Family Jewels.
Simmons proposed to Tweed in a romantic, picturesque background of the ocean in Belize as he got down on one knee. The clip also captured the couple celebrating together on the occasion of their engagement with Tweed showcasing her whopping 27-carat Goel Talasazar engagement ring. As Tweed’s engagement ring was already stunning enough, she also gave back her groom something in equivalent or more in value.
Shannon Tweed And Gene Simmons Have Prior Dating History
Prior to having a thing for Tweed, Simmons was head-over-heels for his girlfriend in the ‘70s, Cher. But after being linked with Cher’s friend, Diana Ross, and later moving on to have a longtime and blissful life with Tweed, Simmons was completely stranded off far away from his “first” love, Cher.
However, back in 2006, during an interview with Howard Stern, Simmons’ past with Cher surfaced. At the time, Tweed also mentioned her son accidentally finding a letter from Cher addressed to Simmons for reaching out to him. She then added, saying that she gave back a note of warning to Cher, telling her to back off and not to reach out to Simmons.
Just a month before their marriage, Simmons had already admitted to doing “a lot of wacky stuff for an awfully long time,” among which he claimed to have slept with over 5,000 women. And after nearly 7 years of marriage, in 2018, Simmons opened up to Us Weekly about his relationship with his wife, Tweed.
He said,
“In the interest of full disclosure, I have been married for more than five or six years. For 29 years… I was a jackass. And it’s a family show and I don’t wanna say anything that moved. I don’t wanna say that. And the astonishing thing about women is… I don’t know why, but you forgive our trespasses over and over, every single day.”
The pair first linked in the Playboy Mansion, where Tweed resided with her then partner Hugh Hefner. After her break-up with Hefner, her romance with Simmons immediately took off as they started dating in the early ‘80s.
And after being a happily unmarried couple of almost 30 years, all of it changed when they tied the knot in 2011. As of now, the couple has been married for almost 10 years despite their together almost 40 years.
