The Hellboy actress, Selma Blair was granted a restraining order against her ex-boyfriend, Ronald Carlson who allegedly attacked her when he went to drop-off a TV set on 22 February 2022. Her ex, Carlson, was arrested the same afternoon at his home and was charged with felony domestic violence.
The actress stated that she was in significant fear of her own safety and the safety of her young son, so she was given a temporary restraining order from her ex on 25 February until 22 March which would be her hearing.
The incident happened when Selma was at her home receiving IV treatment for her multiple sclerosis and she had requested Carlson to watch VHS tapes, so he dropped off the TV and allegedly threw the keys down and calling her f--king useless who couldn't love anyone. He expressed his frustration on her and said that he deserved better than her so she also wished him good luck and called him a loser.
The actress pointed out that Carlson became enraged and lunged after their conversation and strangled her restricting her breath. She stated that she tried to fight him off and tried to call her housekeeper. She claimed that she lost consciousness for a few seconds and fell down hitting her head on the floor. When she tried to stand up, he slapped her forcefully with a pushing motion and he yelled at her saying that he would kill her multiple times before he left her house.
She alleged that Carlson left her unconscious after attacking her and her housekeeper, and her assistant with her son arrived 30 minutes after the attack. She asked her assistant to take the photos of her injuries and she had bruises on her neck and biceps and cuts and scrapes on her chin and jaw area. After she called the police and all the investigations, she developed a heavy bleeding nose so she was transported to hospital for treatment.
