Both the couple announced that they are expecting their first child together on 15 April 2020 through their Instagram feed. Adding caption, they wrote, 'THE DAD SHOES ARE OFFICIALLY OFFICIAL! WE'RE HAVING A BABY!!'

Russell is seen embracing his wife Kailey, who has a baby bump on a family swing inside their house. As per Russell, he and his love of life were trying to conceive for around nine months, which finally happened. The 32-year-old country singer went on, mentioning that it was all God's timing on the pregnancy of Kailey. He wrote:

"Well, if it happens, it happens. It'll happen when it does.' It's all God’s timing on that part. So yeah, I was completely surprised."

He further said that he wants to put 'Edward Dickerson' on the name of his upcoming child, if its a boy. It's his family tradition of keeping the tag-name at the end of the name. For instance, his father's name is Richard Edward Dickerson, and his full name is Russell Edward Dickerson.
