Paulina Porizkova Settles With Ric Ocasek's Estate

Recently, Paulina Porizkova has reached a settlement with her late husband Ric Ocasek’s estate bosses after being cut out of his will. She declined to reveal the amount of money she’d be receiving but assured me that they were very fair.

The 56-year-old model confirmed that she is known about how much she is owed under New York law and that the state is setting with her. She also denied the reports that the Cars frontman was worth just $5 million at the time of his death due to natural causes in a podcast, The Originals.

She said, “You know that’s bulls— Just like that.” When the host asked if the number was for tax purposes, she replied, “Yes it was… In the very early days, they just had to put down a number. They just put down a low sum, so that it wouldn’t seem like he was maybe holding away a lot of money from me? I don’t know. I’m not sure.”

She concluded, “I settled last week with the estate. They were very fair. They gave me what is mine under New York state law, and we’re done.”

Paulina Porizkova Doesn’t Blame Ex-husband For Betrayal

Paulina Porizkova recently clarified that her ex-husband’s will dissatisfied her but reassured her fans that she didn’t blame him and said that she experienced more good years than bad with him. She also posted an Instagram snap captioning, “ I love him still.”

She continued, “ Also, please understand that on many days, I’m filled with gratitude and hope and feel strong, and then I can slide into a few weeks of misery. I know this is all absolutely normal. That is why I share it. it’s real life. it’s the real me.” She also referred to her brief romance with director Aaron Sorkin saying, “ Also, Magical Mr. S s one hundred percent exempt from any mess I get me into.”

She also talked about her late ex-husband, saying, “I would love to be able to be sad and miss him. And not feel this incredible hurt and betrayal. It made the grieving process really tricky.”

However, Paulina felt hurt and betrayed when she found out that her late ex-husband cut her out of his will as he said, “I have made no provision for my wife Paulina Porizkova as we are in the process of divorcing. Even if I should die before our divorce is final… Paulina is not entitled to any elective share… because she has abandoned me.”

Paulina was the one who found him dead at home.

The couple had announced that they decided to split in 2018 but were still living together up until Ric died from Heart disease and pulmonary emphysema. Paulina was shocked by his sudden death and was double hurt when he had rewritten his wills to exclude her from his shares.

She shared the news of their separation on her Instagram, “The photos of our happy family are in fact, happy family photos; we are just no longer a couple.”

Their friend even said that they loved each other, but Ric got tired of everything. She didn’t know if he’d stopped loving her or just stopped loving life. He felt emotionally dead to her.

Talking about their love story, the two first met on the set of the Cars song ‘Drive’ and got married when he was 45, and she was 24. A former music executive said,

“Ric was always in awe of her . he was married when he met Paulina and she was very young, but it was love at first sight. He couldn’t believe anyone that beautiful would want to be with him."

The 55-year-old supermodel shared with UBS about how romance eclipsed any financial thinking and what a bad idea that was. She said,

“ I got two mortgaged houses and the pension, but no way to pay for anything. So obviously things had to be sold, but until they got sold, I had nothing to live on. I literally went through a year of asking my friends to buy groceries. it was not a good position to be in.”

She continued raising the topic that money was unromantic and put their relationship into a sort of a calculated romance rather than just love and passion.
