Eddie Vedder's daughter, Olivia Vedder, is also following in her father’s footsteps. Olivia and her father have been team up for the soundtrack “My Father’s Daughter” of Sean peen’s upcoming film Flag Day where they were featured together along with Glen Hansard and Cat Power’s Chan Marshall.
The soundtrack My Father’s Daughter, written by the Pearl Jam frontman and Once songwriter Glen Hansard, is an emotional song that shows the bond between a father and daughter. The soundtrack is available from 20 August.
The song is a tender ballad, headed by a heavy piano, Vader's delicate vocal table sings a strong family bond which appeared with a music video that contains the different scenes of Flag Day:
“They asked if I had seen you/But I’ve got no truck with men/Like them, they can go to hell/I am my father’s daughter/Come hell or high water.”
Sean Penn directed Flag Day has the cast members Dylan, Josh Brolin, Dale Dickey, Eddie Marsan, Bailey Noble, Hopper Jack Penn, Katheryn Winnick, and Sean himself.
On the next soundtrack, Eddie Vedder, Glen Hansard, and singer-songwriter Cat power together have contributed three original songs and a cover, including Olivia’s debut on two tracks.
In the statement, the Oscar-winning actor, Penn said,
“After this flood of gorgeous songs from Cat Power, Glen Hansard, and Eddie Vedder, we were just about to do a final mix on the film when Ed sent me Olivia singing My Father’s Daughter. It became just the perfect cherry on top of the sundae.”
