The NFL Today analyst, Nate Burleson will be in the spotlight as he will join the anchor team of Gayle King and Tony Dokoupil on the CBS morning show on 6 September 2021 on Tuesday.
The news has been shared by CBS News co-presidents Neeraj Khemlani and Wendy McMahon and new executive producer Shawna Thomas saying that Nate Burleson to Replace Anthony Mason, while co-anchor Anthony Mason depart to become a culture correspondent for CBS News.
CBS News co-presidents Neeraj Khemlani wrote in a memo to staff Wednesday morning, saying Nate is a gifted broadcaster, interviewer, storyteller, and an exceptionally thoughtful voice in conversations around social issues. Neeraj even told Nate will be an exciting addition to the table with Gayle and Tony, and the combo will be appealing to the viewers.

When there is a death in the NFL family, we have to show up and talk about it. So the one thing I can say, and I’m thankful for over the last five years, I have flexed every muscle, being not just an analyst but a host, talking about everything from the very light to the very heavy.”
Burleson has experience working as a host on NFL Network’s Good Morning Football for the last five years and has been a New York correspondent for Extra, who even featured as a guest anchor in the program, while Tony Dokoupil was on paternity leave.
The new co-host of CBS Mornings became the second NFL former player who began his new career in the network morning show. The NFL Hall of Famer, Michael Strahan, alongside Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos.
