Netflix announced that they would be making a feature film adapting Tess Sharpe's young-adult thriller novel 'The Girls I've Been.' And the most important news than that was about Millie Bobby Brown, who is set to play the lead role of 'The Girls I've Been.'
Netflix Film announced the news on their official Twitter on 28 July 2020, stating that Brown will be portraying the role of the protagonist, a bisexual character, in the movie adapted from Tess Sharpe's novel. The thriller follows a con artist who must use her powers of persuasion & impersonation to free herself, her girlfriend & ex-boyfriend from a bank hostage situation.

With that being announced, it's clear that the Stranger Things actress will be portraying the role of a bisexual girl in the forthcoming movie. Many fans caught up their attention to the word 'girlfriend' and expressed their delight, excitement, and pleasant surprise.
One of the Twitter users wrote, 'Millie in a Netflix WLW (woman-loving woman) action/drama movie! I subconsciously manifested it, I think.' Similarly, others added, 'OMG! Millie is playing an LGBTQIAP+ character. I stan!" Many appreciated the fact that the character was bisexual,' 'A win for bisexual,' and 'Bi representation,' quoting the word 'Girlfriend.'
The Girl I've Been might be another breakthrough for the Stranger Things star, as she has never done any role of LGBTQ individual before. And the writer of the novel, Tess Sharpe, took Twitter to praise Millie. She wrote;
"Oh! I did not realize this was getting announced any time soon! Millie is a phenomenally talented person and I could not be more pleased she has decided to tackle playing Nora (and Haley and Katie, etc).”
