40-year-old actress Michelle Dockery has announced the news of her engagement with Jasper Waller-Bridge, 34, brother of Phoebe Waller-Bridge, via The Times Newspaper recently. The Downtown Abbey actress' engagement news comes after six years of her late fiance' John Dineen's death from cancer.

Thus, Michelle Dockery is now engaged for the second time. She had previously discussed her grief of losing her former fiance, John. She further described herself as a widow because they were married at heart. 

However, the actress found love again when she met Phoebe's brother Jasper through mutual friends in 2019. They also made their first public appearance together at Rome Film Festival. Jasper is a film and TV producer and also the manager of former One Direction member Louis Tomilson. 

Michelle Dockery Was Engaged In Past

Michelle Dockery was first engaged to John Dineen, whom she met in 2013. She had shared in an interview in 2014 how she was in love with him and described him as a wonderful man in her life. According to a source, John Dinnen proposed to her in early 2015, and she showed her fellow cast her engagement ring. However, the tragedy struck them when John Dineen died at Cork's Marymount Hospital in Ireland on 13 December 2015. He died of a rare form of cancer when he was just 34 years old. Days later, the actress provided an emotional eulogy via The Irish Times outlet, saying, "I was honored to know John. To love him and be loved by him. He was my friend, my king, my hero, my everything. We celebrate him, we honor him and we will miss him."

She had also talked about him with The Guardian saying, "John was a very private person, and the hardest thing was keeping it out of the press when he was sick. It took a lot."

However, the actress found love again when she met Jasper Waller-Bridge through mutual friends, and they are now absolutely head over heels getting ready to marry each other as they recently announced their engagement. The two started dating when Michelle was promoting the Downtown Abbey movie in the summer of 2019. According to a source, the actress had been traveling a lot to promote the movie, but she has been in constant contact. Source even added all family and friends were happy about them being together, and the couple is enjoying being together.
