Louis Diame recently came into the spotlight after his marriage to a popular actress Issa Rae. After the publications knew about Issa’s low-key marriage, several of them, such as Marie Claire and Martha Stewart Weddings, identified the actress’s hubby as a Senegalese businessman, Louis Diame.

Louis Diame Got Married To Issa Rae
The wedding announcement came out as a surprise to the couple’s fans and followers after Issa Rae shared a series of photographs from their ceremony. She wrote in the caption,
“A) Impromptu photoshoot in a custom @verawanggang dress,
B) My girls came to help me, but they all coincidentally had the same dress! They were sooooo embarrassed.
C) Then I took a few flicks with Somebody’s Husband.

The couple exchanged vows in an intimate marriage ceremony in the South of France over the recent weekend, as reported by Essence. The attendants of the ceremony were reported to have traveled from “near and far” and stayed in a Saint Jean Cap Ferrat hotel nearby, according to a report from E! Online.
Nonetheless, the news came as a huge surprise for all her fans since she is usually tight-lipped about her private/personal life. But they were still happy about their nuptials, as the comment section for the post was filled with congratulatory messages from her followers and colleagues.
Issa Rae Was Engaged To Louis Diame Back In Late 2018
The couple, Louis and Issa, though seemingly were very private about their relationship, some of their actions without a doubt left some trail and hinted at their relationship status.
A situation gave in to some speculations from the fans and outlets. In March of 2019, actress Issa was seen wearing what seemed like an engagement ring on her Essence magazine cover.
The speculation was confirmed later by Rae’s costars Jay Ellis and Yvonne Orji while walking the red carpet at the 2019 NAACP Image Awards on the last of March that year. But any other details on their life together remain extremely private, without even a slip of hint on their first meeting and such.
Rae’s brother, Lamine “Enimal” Diop, also dropped in a few details at the time, which was reported by Us Weekly, as he said that his sister and Diame got engaged around the holidays in 2018 but remained “low-key” about it. But the couple never confirmed their engagement to the outlets and public.
In an April 2018 interview with Marie Claire, Rae talked about keeping her personal life to herself and no one. She said,
“I get so much feedback about everything. The one thing I don’t need feedback on is who I’m sleeping with.”
Similar comments came from the actress later in 2019, as she said,
“I don’t want any input. As a writer, you put everything on the table… Any other aspect of my life? Give me the input. But who I’m f**king? No, I don’t need input. I’m good.”
Before their engagement rumors, the pair occasionally were seen together in the awards ceremony but only debuted walking on the red carpet at the 2017 Essence Black Women in Hollywood Awards. While it is unknown how long they have been together, a Washington Post tabloid dating back to 2012 indicates that Diame is identified as Issa’s boyfriend in her breakout project, The Misadventures of Awkward Black Girl. So, we can say for sure that they have quite a long history together.
She also, accidentally or intently, blurted out about her having a boyfriend, during a sit-down talk with the huffingtonpost.com, in 2017. She said,
“By watching TV or hanging out with friends or my boyfriend. I’m super into ‘Breaking Bad’. I like to watch series a lot of Netflix, BBC. Like I just finished watching ‘Top of the Lake’ and that was pretty amazing.”
But the writer remained unfazed as she kept it hidden until recently of her nuptials announcement on Instagram.

However, many websites were still able to extract a small amount of information on him, to which his now-deleted LinkedIn profile listed his profession as an Independent Banking Professional in the Los Angeles Area.
According to the aforementioned tabloid of Diame appearing in Issa’s breakout project back in 2012, he was reported to be a 29-year-old student. His age can be calculated to be 38 years as of 2021. Still, it remains not a fact since it is simply an estimation.
