40 Years Married Life of Kathryn Grody With Husband Mandy Patinkin
Kathryn Grody is a married woman. She tied the knot with an American actor, singer, Mandy Patinkin, on 15 June 1980.
A source from Vulture tells about his time with the duo in a tiny student cafeteria; that day happened to be the 40th anniversary of their first date, in the exact same space where they got married. The source exclaims to be very happy while listening to the couple’s story when they are together and finds their relationship as an embodiment of intense love and care for each other.
The two just happen to be returning from Uganda, where they met with refugees in their continuing work with the International Rescue Committee and the American Jewish World Service.
The two also talked about their decades-long relationship with Vulture back in April 2018. To our surprise, it was a long-awaited and instant proposal from Mandy. Mandy explained that he and Grody were working together on a play. Although he got his heart broken from a fellow castmate in the past, he still wished to get close to Grody.
Then he decided to settle this secret-love feeling of his after their work on the play was finished. Eventually, he asked for a Sunday date after their play was over. As soon as he sat down, he gave Grody some flowers that he had bought and told her that he would marry her. Mandy admitted that she was the one he should be with to get through the toughest of times.

Grody then admitted that she thought he would get hurt because she neither had any plan nor belief in marriage, not until their first kiss and walking along the pier while crying. She said: “We spent the whole afternoon crying. First, I explained to him why I didn’t believe in marriage, which is a bourgeois institution. He said, ‘What does bourgeois mean?’”
Going along with their conversation, they also found common connections as both of them had lost loved ones (Grody’s parents and Patinkin’s dad) around the same time.
Eventually, they went on more dates, got engaged, and tied the knot on 15 June 1980. During their 40-year-long marriage, they brought up two children to add up to their family. They had two sons, Isaac Patinkin in 1983 and Gideon Grody-Patinkin in 1987.
They two are quite fond of traveling when they are free. They like to go to places like Cambodia, Greece, Serbia, and, recently, Uganda. During their trip to these places, they help raise awareness about the ongoing refugee crisis and “bear witness” to people whose voices have been silenced. They work with the International Rescue Committee and the American Jewish World Service to meet with refugees while on their trip.
