Following the surgery, she committed to a diet plan and worked out more for herself, and surprisingly lost a total of 84 pounds in just three months. In total, she lost around 300 pounds. This weight loss made her feel more like herself and happier.

Following the spin-off show, she and her family got through a journey for weight loss. Although the show was receiving great viewers, it couldn’t win over the critics. Moreover, the news of June getting romantically involved with a known sex offender fueled in the tabloids. This resulted in the show ending with four seasons in October 2014.
However, June denied the charges, and she got an offer of $1 million by Vivid Entertainment for appearing in a pornographic film with her then-live-in mate Mike Thompson. She, though, rejected the offer. In 2015, June, along with Alana, appeared in an episode of ‘The Doctors’.
In 2017, June landed her own reality show on We TV, called “Mama June: From Not to Hot.” The show first featured the epic transformation of June after she underwent major weight loss surgery, as well as Pumpkin’s (Lauryn) wedding to her boyfriend.
Later seasons documented June’s worsening health with boyfriend Geno Doak. She and Geno Doak, in the midst of their drug use, were spending a great deal of money on that addiction. She even had to sell her house due to being broke.
