Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Jen Shah and her assistant, Stuart Smith was arrested on 30 March 2021.
Audrey Strauss, the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Peter C. Fitzhugh, the Special Agent-in-Charge of the New York Field Office of Homeland Security Investigations, and Dermot Shea, Commissioner of the New York City Police Department, made a decision to arrested the duo, Jen Shah and Stuart Smith.
They were both charged with one count of conspiring to commit wire fraud in connection with telemarketing and one count of conspiracy to commit money laundering. The case has been assigned to United States District Judge Sidney H. Stein.
Jen Shah and Stuart Smith allegedly built a telemarketing scheme almost ten years ago. They targeted almost ten or more people over the age of 55. This carries a maximum sentence of 30 years, while the money laundering charge carries a maximum sentence of 20 years.
The duo created a list of potential victims, referred to as leads. From there, they sold those leads to telemarketing companies that would attempt to sell business services to the targeted individuals.
According to people.com, Jennifer Shah and Stuart Smith will receive a profit, a share of the fraudulent revenue, as per their agreement with other allegedly participants teams.
RHOSLC star Heather Gay already knew that his friend, Jennifer Shah's business was unsavory.
The pair are accused of having degraded many victims and conveyed to them that their business services are legal.

Jen Shah is married to Sharrieff Shah. Her husband, Sharrieff, is an NFL's Utah CB coaching cornerback and special teams coordinator. The couple tied their wedding knot on 27 August 1994.

Jen Shah and Sharrieff Shah first met while attending the University of Utah in the early 90s.

“When I met my wife in college, it was fantastic. I never in my life, in my life, seen anybody as pretty in my life"
Sharrieff asked Jen out, saying, "Well, would you like to go out?" and happily, Jen accepted the offer from him, saying, "Yes," but made a deal by bringing her cousins with her.
Unfortunately, the couple's relationship was on and off during their marriage life. Recently, Jen Shah has revealed that her married life with Sharrieff has almost gone on for divorce. Once, Jen had a conversation with Lisa Barlow, and she said that her entire life was over and also claimed that he wasn't being a positive influencer in her life and didn't support her.

The couple is the parents of two children, their first child, a son named Sharrieff Shah Jr, was born on 10 March 1994. After almost nine years later, Jan and Sharrieff became the parents of their second child, a son named Omar Shah, born in 2003.
