Jay Cutler Has His Divorce Stalled With Kristin Cavallari
Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari had their divorced file almost a year ago, and it is yet to be finalized in court.
As a reason for the stalled process, Jay petitioned for ’50 percent ownership’ for her company, Uncommon James, as reported by TMZ on 29 May 2021.
Several sources say Jay claimed he has a right to a piece of his ex’s company because she launched it while they were married, and the company was doing well before he filed for divorce in April 2020. However, Kristin argued Jay’s acclamation saying that the company was established solely with her own money.
Jay filed for divorce last April, and so far, the parents have agreed to 50/50 custody of their children, Camden, Jaxon, and daughter Saylor.
For any other information regarding their divorce matter, it was revealed that the couple’s divorce had been sealed since the court agreed to respect their privacy as per their request.
Jay and Kristin announced their divorce over Instagram last year, in 2020, after 10 years together.
Jay Cutler Married Life With Wife Kristin Cavallari
Jay Cutler and Kristin Cavallari first linked in the year 2009. According to Insider, their relationship included a broken engagement, two weddings, and three babies in four years.
When the pair first met each other in 2009, Cutler was the one to make the first move, but it didn’t work as Cavallari was not interested in a relationship at the time. However, it took a sharp turn a year later when she got an invitation for a hookup. Her mom reminded her of the invitation, and she met him. That meeting marked the beginning of their romantic relationship.
After a whirlwind eight-month relationship, the couple got engaged over Easter weekend during a Mexican getaway in April 2011. But, it only took some mere months for the news to break out about their split in the summer of the same year. Nevertheless, they were also quick to get patched up. By the November of 2011, the couple confirmed that not only were they back on again, they were also engaged.
Two months after rekindling their romance and engagement, the couple shared some major developments in their relationship, announcing the pregnancy with their first child. The couple welcomed son Camden Jack on 8 August 2012. And the birth of their first child gave the pair a little push they needed to tie the knot. On 7 June 2013, they got married in a civil ceremony and again a day later on June 8 at the Woodmont Christian Church in Nashville in front of 150 family and friends, followed by a reception at the historic Houston Station.
Shortly after their 2013 nuptials, the newlywed took to Twitter to announce the welcoming of their second baby together in mid-2014. And again, a year later, the couple added a new family member, daughter Saylor James, in November 2015.
Later in July 2018, a new show premiered titled Very Cavallari, which gave the viewers a glimpse of Cavallari, and Cutler also became a star on the show. On the third season of the show, cheating rumors arose between Cutler and Cavallari’s best friend, Kelly Henderson, which was later denied.
During the coronavirus pandemic, Cutler and Cavallari were last seen together as a married couple during their travel to an “empty island” in the Bahamas during March and early April of 2020 and split right after their return from the vacation. Several sources told Us magazine that the couple was on the verge of breaking up while on vacation. Moreover, it was reported that Cavallari did not get along with Cutler’s parents, Jack and Sandy Cutler.
While their divorce seemed to be an inevitable case since way back, they were just more and more in arguments on their differences over some years just before filing their divorce. And finally, their relationship got messy enough to push their divorce more forward.
On the last of April that year, Cavallari took to her Instagram to announce her divorce with Cutler, saying, “We have nothing but love and respect for one another and are deeply grateful for the years shared, memories made, and the children we are so proud of. This is just the situation of two people growing apart.”
Cutler filed the divorce on 21 April and asked for joint custody, while Cavallari filed three days later on 24 April. According to court documents seen by Us Weekly, Cavallari cited “inappropriate marital conduct” and “irreconcilable differences” as reasons behind her divorce from Cutler.
While the divorce was still in process, they still seemed to be hanging out together. The pair shared a photo of themselves on their respective Instagram accounts with the same caption, reading, “The world is full of users. 10 years. Can’t break that.” Moreover, they have been on friendly terms even after filing the divorce as they co-parent their children. They reunited for a festive photo with their kids in 2020 Halloween.

Even after their divorce, Kristin and Jay have been in the subject of drama on several occasions as well. In early 2021, the pair got into a feud with Madison LeCroy. Back in December 2020, Kristin was linked to Madison’s ex, Austen Kroll, while Jay and Madison were rumored to be dating last month.
Then Madison went on her Instagram Live to mock Kristin and disparaged comments about her parenting skills, which responded with the matching snaps from the former couple on their respective Instagram. Madison also replied to their own response with two screenshots of a message between her and Jay, which showed that they were indeed dating, but she captioned in the post that “it didn’t work out” and intended to “block” Jay.
Following the couple’s split in April 2020, Cavallari has found love again, this time with comedian Jeff Dye after their first link in October 2020. Cutler also seems to be very supportive of her new romance.
However, Cavallari claims to be single at the moment when she spoke to E! in early May 2021. When asked whether she’ll remarry, she added, “I definitely believe in marriage, and I think that I will, eventually. But the thought of getting married right now - it’s like, ‘Oh, my God.’ Makes me cringe. But yes, I still very much believe in it, and I do think that I’ll meet someone eventually.”

In addition to his National Football League (NFL) career, Cutler with his then-wife moved their family from their home in Chicago to a stunning house on 8 acres in Nashville, Tennessee. Cutler is a former NFL player who hadn’t played since 2017 when the Miami Dolphins lured him out of retirement with a $10 million contract. He amassed a 74-79 career record in the NFL and earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2008.
While he may have left the field to play no more, he often gives his opinion here and there about some NFL teams’ decisions. In the 2021 season for Chicago Bears, they planned to make Justin Fields debut since his trade with the club from the 2021 NFL Draft. With veteran Andy Dalton on board, they have been considering alternatives to their plan, and Cutler spoke out to it, saying he would let him “watch” and observe the game first.
As criticism for his words on the recent plans for the Bears remains, he is still a veteran and former NFL player with great performance in his overall NFL career. His professional career began in 2006 with the NFL Draft, being pegged as one of the best quarterbacks available during the draft.
He played three seasons (from 2006 to 2008) in Denver Broncos, 8 seasons (from 2009 to 2016) in Chicago Bears, and his last one season in 2017 in the Miami Dolphins.
