The Bravo reality star, Fredrik Eklund is leaving the Million Dollar Listing franchise as announced by himself via his Instagram on Monday. He clearly announced his leave from Million Dollar Listing: LA and Million Dollar Listing: New York for new start of his life.
He wrote, "After an amazing 11 years, I've decised it's time for the next chapter in my life, and to leave Million Dollar Listing. It's an end of an era and a new start for me. I let Andy, the Producers and the Executives know last week how grateful I am. Eternally grateful, I mean what an incredible run we had together."
Fredrik then shared all the memories of meeting Derek, their wedding, the birth of their twins and all the beautiful properties saying he will cherish that experience and said that he got be himslef even when it was difficult. He further thanked viewers for being there with him and mentioned some of the major accomplishments like how Eklund Gomes Team at Douglas Elliman became the nation's largest and most profilic team that reached $4.5 billion in 2021.
He concluded his post writing, "There is more to do, new projects and experiences, my kids are growing and my business is pulling me in all sorts of exciting directions. Thank you to Bravo, my cast mates from both coasts, and the incredible crew. We made television history together. Lastly, I want to give a special thank you to all the viewers for continuing to be by my side for this journey. I can't wait for you to see what's next. You truly changed my life."
A source also shared with PEOPLE how this was the perfect time for Fredrik to leave the show as he's leaving to work on new projects and wants to end on a high note. The source also clarified how Eklund and his fellow costars Douglas Elliman agenst Josh Altman and Josh Flagg fall outs had no impact on his decision to leave saying, "The fallout is from six months ago and it is not even on Fredrik's radar and didn't factor in any of his decisions."
The bestselling author, Tracy Tutor shared how Fredrik had an incredible ride on MDL franchise and she added, "although we had some up's and down's on the show, I wish him nothing but the best in all his endeavors."

Fredrik Eklund has an estimated net worth of $30 million as a writer, real estate broker, former IT entrepreneur and pornographic film actor from Sweden. Fredrik started his entreprenuer actions when he was young by selling Christmas calendars whose became obsessed with the position of becoming number one seller amongst the neighborhood kids. He also worked at the financial newspaper known as the Finanstidningnen and then started a club with his friend called Billy.
Fredrick Eklund dropped out of school in Stockholm in 2014 and had a rough start when he moved to Manhattan with three fellow Swedes in one-bedroom apartment. He sold paninis to tourists squeaking by on just $40 a day. But Fredrick took the advice suggested by his friend and studied real estate licensing class at NYU and today he is the top real estate broker in New York and a star of Bravo's Million Dollar Listing television show.

Fredrik Eklund met his husband Derek Kaplan first in 2010 in Greece. They spent an enitre week together where they shared their pasts and ambitions for the future. They got married on 9 Feburary 2013 in the Florida Keys. They share two children together son Fredrik Jr. and daughter Milla whom they had via a surrogate. The couple at first suffered a lot when their surrogate miscarried twice and finally in they welcomed their twins on 28 November 2017 with a new doctor and new surrogate.
Fredrik and his husband, Derek have been going strong for almost a decade now and they had celebrated their 10th year anniversary as Fredrik wrote a long heartfelt caption saying, "After 11 years, partners in time. My favorite thing is to sneak away with your heavy arm around my shoulder to explore the world." Fredrik shared how Derek tells him when he's often wrong and also reminds him when his heart is full of love. After Pandemic, Fredrik shared on Million Dollar Listing show that he had plans to expand the family and had already reached out to the surrogate who had carried their twins. But Derek wasn't super keen on having more kids as he pointed out the fact that they barely have alone time since having spent much of their energy on the kids and that another child would accelerate more. Derek reminded him how surrogate process wasn't easy the first time around and how he preferred simple life that's full. But Fredrik sarcastically responsed to him saying, "You shouldn't have married me if you wanted a simple life."
Fredrik Eklund hit a sobriety milestone of 200 days without alcohol in 2021 and shared with US Weekly how the decision to quit positively impacted his life saying that he felt much more present and much calmer and more in control. He said, "If you look at me for the last 10 years, I probably from the outside, I looked like I'm in control, like a businessman, but I didn't really trust myself towards the end. I feel like I look younger, I feel younger." Fredrik shared how he don't have much energy as his twins as they're 3 years old and when he had a glass of wine at home with kids he felt heaviness and tiredness. So, the sobriety really made him a better dad for his twins.
His husband, Derek Kaplan is a self-taught abstract artist born in Harare, Zimbabwe in 1975. He moved to London for his dream career at 21 and did numerous jobs before his full time painting job. He is now a succesful artist and he had his first solo show in 2013 at the Couture Gallery Contemporary Art Space in Stockholm, Sweden.
