Ellie Monahan has tied the knot with Mark Dobrosky in a spectacular ceremony on 4 July 2021 at Port Jervis, New York.
Her mother, Katie, wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of the newlyweds watching a fireworks display, “Baby you’re a firework. Happy wedding Ellie and Mark.”
Before the big day, Katie shared a series of Instagram posts later on in honor of the special celebration, which came more than two years after Ellie’s engagement to now-husband Mark.
“It seems like yesterday when Ellie was crawling up my body like a little gymnast and doing back flip off my shoulders,” she wrote alongside several photos of her daughter growing up. “When she wouldn’t take off her Belle dress - ever. When she got her wisdom teeth pulled and was so loopy she would spin the volleyball before a serve. When she headed off to college where she met a wonderful guy named Mark. When she moved to LA for graduate school… and became a successful TV writer. And on and on.”
She continued, “It went by in a flash and today Ellie is getting married to her beloved Jersey boy. My heart is full of unbridled happiness for them both and for all of us who are coming to celebrate their love and life itself.”
Katie also referenced her late husband Jay Monahan – Ellie’s dad – in the caption, writing, “Jay would be so proud. Here’s to love, here’s to joy, here’s to the future.”
After the wedding wrapped up, Katie then gushed about her daughter Ellie’s wedding via Instagram post in a caption that featured a picture of her daughter and Mark on the altar. She wrote that for the next few days, she would be sharing Ellie’s wedding photos “like crazy.” She further added, “This is the ceremony. It was on the mountaintop of #cedarlakesestate in Port Jervis, New York. Ellie went to @campfernwood in Poland, Maine and wanted a camp like setting.”
Katie also went on to thank her late-husband Jay for the perfect weather on Ellie’s wedding day, in which Carrie was the maid of honor and sang ‘Songbird’ like a well, “songbird.” She concluded the caption on the post with an announcement to share some more of the big day’s pictures and a glimpse of the wedding.

Few weeks before Ellie’s big day, Katie spilled some of the plans for the day while having a talk in a TV show appearance. She said she hired musicians Jay and Molly Unger to play their song “Ashokan Farewell,” which was performed at Couric’s late husband Jay Monahan’s funeral. She added that Ellie “is going to actually walk down the aisle to them playing it as a tribute to their dad” while she will be walking by herself, “because she’s an independent woman.”
Mark Dobrosky, originally from New Jersey, played Men’s Lacrosse for Yale University between 2009 and 2012. Ellie also graduated from Yale in 2013. So it is likely that Ellie and Mark met at the Yale University and nurtured their romance over time, and finally married.

She has a younger sister named Caroline “Carrie” Couric Monahan. Carrie, who graduated from Stanford University, also served as a maid of honor in Ellie’s wedding ceremony.
Her parents, Katie and Jay, married in June of 1989 and were together until Jay died in 1998. Jay tragically passed away in January of 1998 following a battle with colon cancer and raised her daughters as a single mother since.
Nearly a half-decade later, love found Katie again when she met her current husband, John Molner. The pair met through mutual friends in 2012. Later, John proposed to her on the beach in East Hampton, New York, to marry him, which she took some time to accept.
