Eliza Dushku On Set Sexual Harassment

The actress, Eliza Dushku, spoke in front of a House Judiciary Committee to detail the alleged harassment from her co-star, Weatherly of ‘Bull,’ as well as the forced arbitration that CBS had her enter. She shared that Weatherly had her fired from the show when she tried to address the issue of him assaulting her. She testified Tuesday and gave more detail than her non-disclosure agreement typically allows, and said,

“ In 2017, I was aggressively pursued by CBS to become a co-lead in a show called ‘Bull’. I was told that the role would be a six-year commitment to play a smart, strong leading lady—a competent, high-powered lawyer meant to counterbalance the existing male lead – and that the role had been written specifically with me in mind. However, in my first week on my new job I found myself the burnt of crude, sexualized and lewd verbal assaults. I suffered near constant sexual harassments from my co-star.”

She also added that Weatherly referenced to her as ‘legs’ and encountered statements he made about his sperms. Weatherly released a statement to apologize in 2018, saying he made jokes mocking some lines in the script.

Eliza’s testimony was released by the Democrats on the committee on Tuesday writing on Twitter,  “ WATCH: @ElizaDushku shares her personal story of the sexual harassment she faced at CBS and the secret arbitration process she was forced to enter.#EndForcedArbitration.”

In 2018, CBS had agreed to pay her $9.5 million after she complained she was written off of ‘Bull following her confrontation with Weatherly over what she described as inappropriate.
