Duff McKagan is an American Rock bassist best known for his time in Guns N’ Roses and was also a part of the band Velvet Revolver. He has also served as an occasional writer for SeattleWeekly.com.

Despite being an honorable and good student, who even earned a GED, he stopped his studies midway and honed his skills as a bassist. Fortunately, his efforts paid off when he played with bands; Velvet Revolver and Guns N’ Roses and made a living out of it.

Duff McKagan is a married man who has been together with the international supermodel Susan Holmes-McKagan since 1999. The couple has two kids together, Grace Elizabeth and Mae Marie, with whom they reside in Seattle.

The couple first linked when Susan was set up on a blind date by one of her friends back in 1996. Ever since, the pair shares everlasting love for each other while displaying the features of good parents for their children. During the year 2019, the supermodel released her first novel titled The Velvet Rose, where she also gave a short hint on the long-lasting secret of their relationship.

She noted the important thing for having a good relationship like them is to have “genuine trust and respect for one another” while also allowing each other space. She also added to have a trip for a change of scenery, which the couple is expected to experience together with their family.

She gushed about how her writing process was inspired on each step with her husband Duff’s influence. Duff had previously written a novel himself, and as she got the chance to see her hubby's writing process for herself, she could write and rewrite and write again to complete her novel.

In 2010, the couple appeared on the E! show’s December episode shooting some pictures for a new PETA ad. The ad photo was later released, with the caption that read, “Ink, Not Mink. Be comfortable in your own skin and let animals keep theirs.”

Duff McKagan Battle With Addiction And Alcoholism 

At the age of 29, Duff McKagan was on “sub-zero,” which caused him to live at the bottom of his life with addiction and alcoholism. Such situations later made him gravely ill, and when consulting a doctor about his health, he was reported to be on the last of his life.

However, with everything going on, he believed to regain his sobriety for good, as he went on to do some bike riding and kickboxing. Such things led him to realize his life without those addictions and alcoholism could be much better, and he fully embraced those feelings regaining a second chance in his life.

With such, he coped with any negative feelings and is continuing his journey in his music career. While he remains a notable personality worldwide, as small it may be, his daughters have also gained some popularity on their own.

His daughter, Mae McKagan, officially launched her self-titled fashion line in 2019 at the boutique 'I Need More on the Lower East Side' and 'Vaudeville' on St. Marks Place.

Before his marriage with Susan, he married Amanda Brix from 1988 to 1990 and Linda Johnson from 1992 to 1995. Likely, he was reported to have a brief stint of romance with other women, including Kim Anderson (1990-1991) and Katharina Kerekgyarto (1984-1986). He also has had encounters with Claire Stansfield (1991), Taimie Hannum, and Michelle Dupont.
