Diane Warren is the youngest daughter of three, born to parent David and Flora. She was born on 7 September 1956. Her father, David, is an Insurance agent, and her mother, Flora, is a housewife. Her full name is Diane Eve Warren.

As a child, Warren loved to listen to music and dreamed of performing on the radio. She was influenced by music from her early day through her sister and parents, who love to play music. She began her writing at 11 but started her career seriously from the age of 14. Warren said that her mother asked her to give up her dream, but her father encouraged her.
