The 26 year old reality star, Demi Burnett opened up about her autism diagnosis in a recent instagram post where she also asked her fans to be open-minded and accepting. She began her post writing an advisory warning that said, "MAYBE A TRIGGER WARNING I DON'T KNOW BUT HEADS UP."
She explained about her diagnosis saying that she did a psychological evaluation and that she was autistic. She mentioned how there was a huge stigma when it came to autism so she encouraged her followers and people to be open-minded and accepting writing, "Swipe for some 'memes' that might be helpful when dealing with an autistic person. All I want is to have a better quality of life. I will share more on my story of my evaluation and how I got this point and all of my pain and struggles along the way."
She concluded her caption making sure that anyone who was feeling like her weren't alone and how it would get better. She also made a point stating that it wasn't their fault. She wrote those things under an unfiltered snap of her posing with sunglasses on inside a living room and with that photo she posted several self-help posts.
Several friends joined her fans to comment supportive messages to her post and her Bachelor co-star, Maurissa Gun wrote, "I love you so much. I'm so proud of you. You're the most amazing person ever." Wardrobe stylist Tracy Shapoff commented how proud she was of her for her open, candid and authenticness.
However, there were some disturbing messages and Demi also posted an instagram troll on her Instagram stories that said how she wasn't autistic as she could befirend people and have relationship on national television. Demi then wrote how that was very damaging and shouldn't have said that. She wrote, "A lot of people are misdiagnosed/underdiagnosed. Do not let messages like this discourage you!
