Deji Olatunji Announces To Take A Social Media Break After Getting Defeated By Vinnie Hacker
The younger brother of the famous YouTube star KSI, Deji Olatunji, was stopped by Vinnie Hacker as he returned to action for the first time since his defeat to Jake Paul three years ago for a boxing match.
On 12 June 2021, the public couldn’t turn their eye away from some blazing performances with a series of popular YouTubers and TikTokers, which was done to find out which was the better platform. The fights also included YouTube influencer Deji.
In a shock result, TikToker Vinnie Hacker took the win over YouTuber Deji, which turned out to be the only win for the TikTok side. Since the fight, Deji has referred to himself as a “failure” on social media. Meanwhile, his fellow competitors, and other influencers, including his brother KSI, flocked to the tweet to send kind words to the YouTuber.
KSI initially tweeted: “Congrats Vinnie.” He then reacted after Deji posted: “I’m sorry, I am a failure." KSI replied: “No, you’re not Deji,” and he added, “You got that ring. That’s more than what many could ever do. Ultimately you’re an entertaining YouTuber, boxing or not. So don’t worry about this for real. *Insert heart bro.”
Deji then took to his YouTube channel to upload a short video on 13 June, in which he addressed the fight from the previous night. “I don’t want to talk too much because actions speak louder than words, and I know what I need to do,” he told the viewers. “I’m gonna be taking a break from social media, and I’m just gonna be working on myself because that’s what I need to do.”
He further expanded his reasons for taking some break from social media, saying that he wanted to be in a better shape to be able to “box again.” He also went on to reassure those who are concerned about him. “I am all good, as you can see I’m cheerful. I’m happy, this isn’t a façade. I’m living life, alright. I needed this. This is something that’s just gonna ultimately help me in the future.” He concluded his message by thanking all of his supporters, and all the kind words addressed to him after his tweet.
It’s not clear how long Deji will be out of social media. But the fans can look forward to seeing the best of him after the long break, as he plans to make the best out of this break time.

The drama between the brothers further escalated when Deji uploaded a diss track titled Unforgivable with Jallow, Dax, and Crypt dissing KSI. Deji went on to the Logan Paul podcast Impaulsive to explain the situation and called KSI manipulative and his friends (The Sidemen) fake, only having KSI’s back on the surface but not genuinely.

On Christmas 2018, KSI went to his family home, but there were disagreements in the conversation, which resulted in a fight between him and Deji. Deji later tweeted that KSI threatened to smash his computer to make him delete the diss track, while KSI claimed in his tweet that he was kicked out of the house by Deji as he threatened to call the cops if he didn’t get out. Deji also stated that KSI attacked their mom and insulted both of their parents.
Deji later that day made another video titled “My bro,” calling him a bully, manipulative, and accusing him of attacking and making their parents cry. This video was later deleted, and it is speculated that it was due to subscriber loss. After some time, the brotherly feud was settling down after Deji uploaded an apology video to KSI for his actions. He deleted the Unforgivable diss track, thus ending the drama.
However, the drama between them reignited in May 2019, when Deji made his diss track that was thought to be deleted, public once again on YouTube. Deji called out his brother for forgetting their Mum’s birthday and even threatened with a lawsuit if KSI lied about him.
KSI finally responded to Deji with a video titled Ending it all in June of 2019. He confuted all the claims made by Deji and even apologized for all his past acts of violence and other subject matters for igniting the feud. This video triggered another huge subscriber loss to Deji while KSI began to regain his subscriber loss.
Finally, the feud went onwards its end when Deji uploaded a video in June 2019 on how he was suffering from mental health problems and all. The next day after the video, Deji went live on Twitch and told his viewers that he finally agreed to attend therapy with his brother and said he would take some time off the internet to focus on getting better mentally. It appeared that the drama was over after Deji voiced support for his brother in the boxing rematch against Logan Paul.
