Since their first rendevous at a party in Firestone, Orlando, Florida, on Valentine’s Day in 2004, love started brewing between them. But after being in a relationship for almost eight years, they dispatched in 2015.

Jeffery, his ex-partner, states their relationship became unsuccessful due to David's drinking and drug problem. The trouble further ignited when Jeff sued David, and the ex-partners had to face the legal battle.

Although Jeffery claimed David "left him financially and emotionally devastated" and revealed that David was caught up with the dark world of drugs and sex, the case was later dismissed.

HGTV Design Star David Bromstad was born on 17 August 1973, which makes him 47 years old. He is a native of Cokato, Minnesota.

He is the youngest child of his parents Diane Marlys Krueger and Richard Harold Bromstad. His mother, Diane, is of Swedish and German descent, and his father, Richard, is of Norwegian descent.

David is a family person with three siblings. Dean Richard Bromstad is his elder brother, and Dynelle Renee Bromstad and Dyenne Rachael Bromstad are his elder sisters. One of his sisters is also a talented Interior Designer.
