Julianne loved me and didn’t have an exploitive or malicious bone in her body.” He shared how he failed as a partner to Julianne as he began to fall for his band-mate Patti Scialfa and wrote, “She’s a woman of great discretion and decency and always dealt with me and our problems honestly and in good faith, but in the end, we didn’t really know. I placed her in a terribly difficult position for a young girl and I failed her as a husband and partner.”

They ultimately divorced in 1989, and he had shared in his autobiography that he dealt with the split abysmally by insisting that everything between them remained quiet as demanded by the actress Philips. She wanted a no-talk divorce settlement.

The singer Bruce had fallen for Patti Scialfa and got married to her. They are perfect for each other. They first met when Patti was singing at a bar called The Stone Pony. The singer invited Patti to be the backup singer in his E Street Band’s Born in The USA tour in 1984. Eventually, they got attracted to each other while working together and got married in 1991.

He has shared that the messages in the film are his love letters to his wife and said, “We’re always trying to find somebody whose broken pieces fit with our broken pieces and something whole emerges. I think you can’t have deep experience without error, mistakes, pain. That’s all just a part of human existence. So what does art do and music? Music is – it’s a repair shop. So I’m basically a repairman. And I’m trying to repair myself. If I do that well enough, I will help repair you while I’m doing it.”
